I was asked today if I was going to try out for the next play and decided that I would give it a shot. While talking to another actor about whether they were going to audition or not, they said that they probably wouldn't. When I asked them why, they said "Because I can't speak with an English...
Well, a little late getting this up (sorry!), but I'm here to, hopefully, learn how to sculpt.
Other than a few minor things, I've never really pushed putty, so I'm really looking forward to giving this a try.
Don't know if it's been on the news or anything, but we had a pretty nasty snow storm come through Nebraska (and a few other states, as well) over the past couple of days. As much as I didn't want to get out of the house, my mom had to work and wasn't able to get out of her driveway. Since I...
Ok, for those that haven't been following the thread about my WIPs for the Little Angels charity, one of the projects I have planned is a chessboard. Nothing overly fancy; I just like chessboards and figured I could knock one out pretty quick - probably a lot faster than the sewer gaming board...
So I have a few ideas for things to do for the charity that Brett put together over at WaMP (link's in my sig) and I'd like to - hopefully - do some WIPs so that they come out better than my usual fare. I'd also appreciate any feedback as I go along.
I'm planning on painting up Wyrd's Seamus...
Last night was our last full dress rehearsal for the play that I'm in. We had a few people in the audience (maybe a dozen or so), but in about 12 hours, we go live in front of a sold-out house. In fact, tonight and the next three shows are either completely sold-out or have only a few seats...
Talking to people about miniature painting is one thing; being interviewed and then having it be on the front page of the paper is something else. Feels kind of weird.

A little while back, we had a kind of festival here in York that involved people making things out of Peeps (for those that don\'t know, they\'re colored marshmallow treats):
I\'m posting this because I meant to back when it happened because my daughter had entry (it didn\'t win) and then...
I\'m just curious if anyone happens to know where she is. She was my opponent in the Iron Painter contest over at Wyrd and I fully expected to get my clock cleaned, but she didn\'t post an entry and she hasn\'t been active over there since the middle of last month. I checked here, but it...
Wyrd Miniatures has released the inaugral issue of Wyrd Chronicles, a free ezine (in .pdf format - about 18 MB in size) filled with all kinds of things Wyrd, including a painting tutorial and a sculpting tutorial. There\'s also a bit of information on the skirmish game Malifaux that they\'re...
While I was waiting for some stuff at work, I decided to kill a few minutes by going through the gallery and voting on a few minis.
However, after voting on the first one, the only minis that were showing up were ones that I had already voted on. I was under the impression that minis that you...
Hey all. I\'m currently working on a project and I need a certain type of mini for it.
It needs to be female, preferably wearing an apron, pants and no shirt (although a shirt is acceptable); no armor and no weapons (a weapon is acceptable if it can be removed and won\'t leave the mini in an...
I painted this one to try and work on getting better highlights, shading and work on producing smoother transitions between the two.
I\'ll probably also be looking around to find a better lighting rig or something (all I\'m using right now is a small desk lamp with a 100W bulb), since the...
