Hey man, loving the old school vibe. My brother actually won this very model painted by one of ther Eavy Metal team in the early 90's. We have it at home somewhere and will try to photgraph it next time I'm up there.

Cracking Ultramarine dude, the blue is lovely and the crisp contrasts look great. Freehand all the way...I know how you feel on that score and it looks BO!

What Blue have you used for the basecoat?

@ crackpot. I went with grey because he is an old salty space captain, plus every time I paint blond it turns out like NMM gold lol.

@ Will. Regal blue, wash black, then regal, ultramarine, space wolfs grey.
He looks alot darker in the hand. The lights bring out the blue.

Yeah, thought so about the gray hair. Then maybe add some blue or brown color to it. A pure gray is quite unnatural.
The Freehand on the shoulderpad is coming along very nice! I like it better now.

The shoulder pad freehand is really good!
Also, the painting on the TMM knight (Kelian Durak) is awesome. His base is also really well done, but like you say yourself, maybe there's something about it that doesn't compliment the mini well enough. Great piece though.

Thanks for the comments. Ive been slowly working on the golds & ive added some tan into the hair as crackpot suggested (not that you can tell on the photos)

Mini looks cool so far. You should enhance the contrast on the gold nmm though. Try shadeing it further till black.
