Pictish Mini Painting

I'm actually a man!
Looks good 10, I shall keep an eye out for it in the cabinets on sunday.

I am tempted to wear a jaunty hat or something to get the attention of any forum folk hehe.

That or I wear my blue t-shirt of an old ford escort being power slid in a comic book style :)

Just have to remember that the NIA cabinet may be downstairs which is a pest if its busy.

Good luck at the comp 10, I think this girl looks great. Some little freehand would show more attention to detail, I would hate it being the diff between getting a pin or not.

Me, AndyG & Sproket will be in the Malt house pub if you fancy a meet up. It's right outside the NIA (next to the sea life centre)

Congrats to all who got demons / finalist medals. Bloody well done to Sproket !!
Im pleased I got 4 out of 5 of my minis to the finals. Just the ogre missed out - to be honest he looked a bit lost in the cabinet againts all the giants / dragons etc.
Here are the minis I got medals for. Still think I may have lost out of a demon with picking old/out of production minis. Espically with the nurgle squad, as some of them are from the 80's. Old skink / old ork / none hobbit LOTR mini also.
This will give me something to think about for next year.

Tbf though andreo de chello got silver with old chaos dwarfs, so never discount old models.

The thing I noticed was that scenic bases didn't seem to do as well, may have to do bases glued to a plinth if I did squad again.

Slayer sword was a worthy winner, was impressed with the stuff this year. Diorama I think for me and vehicle and single mini, gonna start early.

True, but he is an excellent painter. It just my opinion that old minis (especially minis that are not in production) don't help matters.

Too bad, I actually like the nostalgia factor those old minis have, especially the nurgle squad. But, then again, I'm not a GD judge.

Those are some really strong entries and congrats on the medals. On a side note, is green a color you like to paint or is it just a coincidence that this grouping is so green heavy? Not a complaint or anything, I find myself tending towards a lot of white, red, and blue lately, so just curious.

I noticed that looking at them in a line. Its just how it turned out really - nurgle marines usually are green, Orks skin usually green, suppose I could of gone for a blue skink.
Also just brought a green car and i'm green with envy! lol

Wow, jaw dropping work 10ball. I love your highlights and use of NMM. The female and ork (oh and lizardman!) are favourites! Well, they're all great :-D

Congrats on on your finalist medals Lee that's a great looking set of minis. I honestly think that if you keep developing in the way you have been you'll be taking home some trophies in the none too distant future!

Congratulations on the medals!

Please don't give up painting some old school figures just to fit in some contest's trend.

Keep choosing and doing whatever you love to do, as you always said. :)
