Congratulations, 10! Glad to hear that you're settling into a routine again.
I do absolutely love that Blacksmith goblin, and I'm glad he won you a well-deserved medal. I can't wait to see some more pictures of him and Top Grot!
Thanks all.
Dave I missed you at Salute, in fact I missed the entire stall. I never brought a bean this year, not a single thing. (Bit short on cash but hopefully will be back to normal soon).
Well had a fantastic idea for a little dio envloving my grot rocket (thanks to a Mr Soper) but will a lack of cash (not willing to pay £30 off ebay!!) and ForgeWorld , God bless em, stopping sale of the grot rockets i have started making them myself
No worries Lee, we were on the left hand wall as you entered the door.
These scratch built Grot bombs look awesome. hope all gets back to normal for you soon
I get asked alot about how long my painting takes. When telling people the sum total of hours I can tell they are put off. My advice is not to attempt to sit down in 8 hour slots but set small targets on sections of the mini in 2-3 hours sections (even an hour can be helpful in base coating and prepping etc).
Its surprising how much you get done and its keeps the quality high as you dont get tired as much.
This shows on my grot dio that ive been working on since salute. The original has been merge into a flying display team
Totally agree with the small bursts of painting but often method, occasionally I get a chance to paint all day but it leads to getting headaches or burnt out by the end of it. Breaking it down into a few shorter sessions helps alot and you get used to it for those times when you might only have an hour to work on things.
These goblins look like they'll be a great diorama and thanks to you I now have danger zone stuck in my head...
Love the grot flying team. You wouldn't have guessed they were scratchbuilt compared to the FW model.
I'm with you on the short painting sessions. I get headaches as well and I find I start to get frustrated with the model after a while and I'm more liable to paint poorly
