thanks guys
it was all done with acrylics using the juice technique (finaly got the hang of it)
the snow was pva and micro ballons.
after the first layer i loaded my brush with water and thinned down areas where i wanted the ground to show through to try and give it that fresh snow cover/icy feel to the ground.
once dry i then made a realy thick mix and built up areas were i wanted the snow to be thicker/fluffier.
the metals were done by mixing in an apropriate colour to the metalics as well as metal medium and then adding metal medium for the highlighting.
then glazes for the shading.
the red was a dark red/dwarf flesh mix as the base coat and then dark red glazes and blue added to it for shading with black then added for the extra contrast and depth.
stuck this one out for 40 hours instead of getting bored and rushing it.
and thanks again to lono for the brutal honesty about my metals and contrast as it realy has helped mate.
i go back to the mini a day later and tweek highlights and shadows now and just that little bit of extra work realy makes a differance.
thanks again guys
