A Host worthy of the Gods!

That\'s too bad Jake. I hope they turn up somewhere or the thief gets caught. I was ripped off in a mail trade for some old Brets with someone recently. Lost about $70 worth of Ogre Kingdoms stuff. It sucks.

It\'s people like these that make my fists itch all the time. Good luck. Gaming communities are pretty small and tight knit so I hold hope out for you at least finding out WHO took them.

I feel bad for them because they lack the sense of decency and respect for the hobby and those who enjoy it with them. When you forgo all of the principles behind our hobby, then you’re left with nothing. Hopefully they grow up and return them. If they wanted to look at them for a bit as a study, I’d be more than happy to let someone “check them out”, if they gave me their name, number, collateral and if I have known them for a while.

I talked to Steve, the shop owner, about this today and he’s going to look through the surveillance footage. The minis are pretty bold looking with their colors so they should be easy to spot if someone turns up with them. For the mean time though, Steve gave me four new flamers to have. I’ll just paint these ones that much better!

Matt that sucks to hear that someone ripped you off in that trade. You’re an incredibly generous member to the miniature community and it’s a shame someone had to take advantage of your generosity.

Well I’ll post pics tonight, happy painting everyone!

I love your blending techniques, i am truely saddened to hear someone would steal your models, I recently encountered a similar problem while playing a game of warhammer fantasy at a local hobby shop. I forgot two hero\'s on the side of the gaming board and when I realized that they were not in my case I went back to find them. My models were unpainted, just assembled and primed. Of course nobody had seen them even though the entire board was still setup and the dice exactly where we left them

My local gaming shop owner gave me two brand new blisters, one of each model free of charge and apologized for what had occurred. I stewed over it for about two weeks until I returned to their store again, luckily for me, the owner had my models sitting in his display case. I hadn\'t opened the new blisters he gave me and gladly gave them back to him in exchange for my guys, he at first wasn\'t going to take them back but I insisted.

Lucky for me my problem was worked out and no models were missing, it was just a misunderstanding, actually the other gamer took my models and put them in his case so nobody else would. He called the store the next day and let them know... some people understand what this feels like and have the decency to give the items back, others are thieves and are powered by greed.

- nice work by the way, where are the bloodletters!?:cussing:

Thanks for the kind words Bigdennis! They were the \"landmark\" for my ability to blend so it\'s a bit sad to see them go.

Steve is going to call me back tomorrow about the theft. He has an idea who it may be, so that\'s a good sign. He\'ll fill me in to what he\'s found so far. He\'s really sorry about what happened, as are the rest of the people I game with and they\'re a bit miffed about someone having the nerve of taking someone\'s stuff like this. I\'m not going to be angry about it; that person doesn\'t deserve my energy.

As for tonight, I got to sit at the information desk tonight for work and paint my plaguebearers for a bit. The Bloodletters are sitting in my dorm right now, and I\'ll post them once my shift is up. I\'m having a ton of fun with washes! Chaos Daemons are a great army to use washes on.

Happy Painting! I\'ll be back with pictures!

Here is a portion of my bloodletters unit:

As you can see I\'m still working on them; they should be done by the end of this weekend!

Pleasant painting!

I got my fingers crossed that they catch the crook! That was quite nice of your shop owner to give you some replacement figs. Sounds like a top notch guy.

Bloodletters are looking great! The skin is excellent.

My Flamers were found!

However.... the little %$#%#* mostly stripped them of all the paint, but enough remained paint remained on them to easily tell they were mine.

The character of high morals had the nerve to come back to the hobby store to play and to use his \"brand new\" daemon army with four flamers....

Instantly, the guy who was playing him recognized the paint job that remained on the flamers and told Steve, the store manager, who then called me up. I bolted over to the store and the guy\'s face went pale as I went over and sat at the table to watch the game.

He wouldn\'t even look at me and I just sat there and watched him set up his army. Then came the moment of truth when he deployed the flamers and as he did, I smiled at him and took them off the board. He didn\'t even resist. Steve told him in a very crude way to get out of the store, ahah. lol I just stayed there and talked for a bit and scheduled another painting seminar for the members there next week.

This is the guy who has over five armies, so I feel no remorse for him. He can bugger off, considering he\'s incredibly rude to people.

I\'ll have to repaint them; they\'re in rough shape considering he did a number on the paint job. The nerve of some people, but I got them back though! Now to get back to painting them again.

Cheers,

Jake

I brought them with to give back since I didn\'t take them out of the blisters yet, but he said I could keep them :), so I\'ll paint them up nicely for the store as either displays or as \"loaners\" for people to use as proxies.

Very kind of you Jake. I\'m glad your figures were found.

I laughed at your story of watching the crook\'s game and his expression when he saw you. I don\'t know which I like better, that one, or the one about your revenge on the coworker stealing your lunches... lol

Who knows. I just don\'t understand the logic behind going to the same shop with stolen miniatures, especially ones with a really noticable color scheme like that.

He\'s been banned from the store, and any other model store that Steve has any sort of relation to. I think he deserves a laxative lunch as well; that should be an award given out to people.

I think I may change the color scheme up a bit on the flamers. I\'m not sure yet though. Any suggestions?

Thanks, but he did a number on the paint job. I\'m going to have to completely strip them since he either took a brillo to them to try to get the paint off or whatever. If I were to just prime them and repaint, it\'d be pretty lumpy and uneven.
