I said before that I really am not altogether fussed what GW do as they aren\'t quite extortionately priced or anything just yet and on the paints side of things a lot of people are looking at other paints anyway. Things happen, you know?
But then I read in White Dwarf this month a little article (only a few lines) on the paint changeover dated 31st March. We\'ve been here a million times I know, but this really made me think a little bit differently...
They said (not ad verbatim) that with the change of price coming in March (no mention of new bottles?), now would be a \"great time to go and stock up on the paints\" whilst they are \"...still at their lower price!\"
Pheeeeew! They are telling what amounts to, in the main, a young group of people to go and benefit from their price increase by purchasing all the shitty screw-top bottles at the current price! Cynical. My thinking is that the swines at GW are making sure they get rid of all the stock BEFORE the new arrivals. Now I know this is business and I don\'t knock what they are doing on that score - business is business is business - but surely the price increase was the way to cope with the difficulty of replacing an established line?
Maybe I\'m getting things slightly out of perspective here, but I really felt that a sneaky article telling everyone to take advantage and STOCK UP was a little arrogant or at least below the belt.
Well, on with the show eh? I\'ve said my bit and I don\'t want to sound like a typical GW knocker because they\'ll always have a place in my heart (and my considerably lighter pockets).
Whaddayathink? :innocent:
