But isn\'t that understandable? GW aside...someone raises their price...people complain. I think people complain about GW because GW does lots of things that irritate people. People just don\'t catch a virus that makes them wake up one morning hating GW, it\'s generally a long and lengthy process of being treated like a twat.;). Anti-GW threads don\'t just appear out of the blue...

And I thank you for your concern...:D

That\'s not entirely true. The public in general are often completely unrealistic in their expectations from businesses and they will shout very loudly when those unrealistic expectations aren\'t met.

As a sales rep I have had a number of occasions where one of the shops I have delt with has bent over backwards to satisfy a customer only to hear that same customer beitch about them at another shop later the same day.

I do agree that the two sides wont change the others mind. I would say that after going slightly off track this thread has at least turned into a fairly balanced discussion rather than an all out rant fest.

POSITIVELLY BRILLIANT !!!!

As I stare blankly at the screen with pages of banter and slagging blurring before my old eyes, one positive vision keeps returning to my minds eye . A vision of awesome splendour one that dates back to the 70s when I first read JOE HALDEMANS, Space Marine novel FOREVER WARS.I began too look prophetically forward to a future time when the vision will become a reality .There have been times when I thought I would never see the fulfilment, but recently all hopes have been rekindled .Yes I am talking about something greater than prices and rip offs ,something deep down we know we all really want and that precious seed has been sown .The most POSITIVELLY BRILLIANT image , dare I say a G.W. image ! I speak of the Realistic computer generated animation at the beginning of the DAWN of WAR !!!!!! Fleeting moments when real Space Marines combat the Green Horde , are not those brief moments awesome , showing that the day IS drawing nearer when there will be a DECENT Space Marine movie ! (and preferably about SPACE WOLVES ).That is a positive G.W. baby I for one cant wait to be born ! ...........GOD bless ........VINCENTIlol

Not a conspiracy. But we know that CMON isn’t loved by all. This could be just another just a bunch of people who want to get us annoyed and agitated. Can anyone here say that the CMON community hasn\'t been the target of people wanting to piss us?

Even if someone brings up credentials, or explains themselves, we still don’t know if they are real or not. We could be getting pissed at some kid who is not getting attention from their parents.

I often wonder if people bring up threads like this so they can troll. You usually never hear from the people who like GW after the all of he complaining and such dies down.

Why do I get a feeling that there is a thread in the GW community, or some other forum where they plan stuff like this?
 It\'s a conspiracy!!!

Seriously though, there are some details that will never be possible in plastic. I said that in my first post in this thread. It\'s obvious just by looking at the difference between metals and plastics. I\'m sure one of the pro sculptors here (like Steve Buddle) could confirm this.

Thats just silly. Never? Sounds like the guy from IBM who said there would never be more than 8 computers in the world (paraphrasing). Look how far the technology has progressed in just a few short years. The reality is more likely that in a few more years there will be no differnece between what can be achieved between the two mediums.

Yep, you are right, I wasn\'t thinking properly when I wrote that. I was talking about the current state, I\'d imagine anything\'s possible in the future.

Meh. They Been Promising Wonderous Things from plastic for a long time.

I\'ve been a plastic modeler as long as I\'ve painted minis - and the state of the art in scale models is where it was 20 odd years ago when I started - and we\'re still attaching resin and photo etched brass and aluminium parts to kits to make them more realistic looking. The big difference now is that a lot of those add on parts are now included with the plastic kits, rather than sold aftermarket.

Yes, if you want to convert then plastic is the way to go. I dont. Metal for me, thank you.

And with the lead at least I know one room of my house is shielded in the event of a nuclear attack!lol

I\'m so glad to finally hear some positive about the company that got a lot of us into tabletop gaming. Now if we could get them to bring back MoW it would be golden..:)

I love GW. They have increased the amount of crack in the glue of the White Dwarf binding...but I can quit anytime I want. Really. I can.

Well that isn\'t true. If it was, then that would mean impossible wouldn\'t be possible.

@steelcult

gw didn\'t make dawn of war. they allowed another company to make it so that they could make money through copywrights.

you will never see them invest in a computer game again, not when there are others who will do it.
it\'s the same reason musicians allow people to release covers of there songs.
no work and lots of money.

i just wish they weren\'t dumbing down the complexity of plastic regiments.

True.

But their name is on it so its GW product. And they had the sense to let someone who knew what they were doing do it.

Could there be hope for GW yet?

another sad thing :( the new Fantasy starter box (the past release was with empire and orks inside) will contain dwarves and goblins, but all the models will be static with only one pose, like the macragge starter set... :|~:|~:|~:|~:|~:|~:|~ i hope gw will realize that his customers are not only 3 years old kids....

Umm no. Since several folks here have stated that either while they were working for GW or talking to their friends who work for same have stated that GW believes in a 70-80% turnover rate, that indicates that they really dont mind giving starter sets crap.

Not technically true. Musicians cannot prohibit someone from doing a cover of their song. By law they have to allow it, and by that same law they have to be paid if someone does a cover. Mandatory licensing it\'s called.

Hey Vincegamer; it\'s always handy having an attorney on the CMON \"staff\". You may me rethink the lawyer jokes....Not really.
