Personally, I feel keeping threads on topic is highly overrated. If you had a discussion with folks in a bar, you wouldn\'t force them to go back on topic, would you?
I suppose I can understand Uber\'s point a bit. But, sometimes it\'s good to see other\'s viewpoints on controversial topics. The \'freedom\' of anonymity that we all share is nice at times. People in real life so rarely want to discuss controversy.
However ....Starting a thread dealing with negligent homicide, school shootings, fat taxes, politics, or any other topical news related items is OBVIOUSLY going to turn into a soapbox and debate thread.
It\'s not rocket science. I don\'t see how anyone with over 500+ posts wouldn\'t understand that.
This is a forum about miniatures, and that is the common thread we all have, but it is not the only defining things in our lives.
Don\'t want controversial topics? Then don\'t start them. Stick to \'What is your favorite smell\'.
