Thanks for the votes and comments. And thanks for the link Krule, that will be helpful. I'm going to keep working on textures, trying to copy YellowOne straight away was a bad plan, have to work up to that. lol

Now back to work on that Chaos marine...

After I just said I wouldn't copy Kirill I went ahead and bought a Young Miniatures bust that he did the box art for. I couldn't help myself, it's so good and was on sale.

The viking bust looks pretty awesome! I love the eyes. I can't decide between nose guard and no nose guard.

The blue in his braids is really bugging me though. It seems to bright for the piece and it looks like rubber bands.

Back to Mr. Chaos. The last paint session was used for the right shoulder pad and the axe head.

Originally I thought an all silver axe head would work, but now that it's done I think I need to break it up a bit with some more gold.

Ah, thanks guy, you're too kind. More gold has been done, I think it helps break up the silver nicely.

Thanks guys. Maenas, I saw that today, this is now my third piece that made it and I'm pretty happy. And it didn't even drop a full point after making it to N&N so that's exciting. lol

Ter, Diggs, you guys are a riot. No hustling, I promise. I'm just hypercritical of my own work. I get this vision in my head of how I want things to look and when I can't it to match exactly I feel defeated. One day I'll get them to match up, and the only way to do that is to keep painting. So back to the painting table I go.
