(Time to do the rounds again).

Looks great, Flu! I love the texture on the cape, and the last touch-up makes it look more like fabric and less like rock (I got a rock feeling from previous pictures).

KB - It's the putty, I couldn't get it smooth enough, I can try adding more to fix it. And yeah the base still has some work, it's supposed to be very well polished white marble of Tizca, so I'm going to put down a gloss coat to make it all shiny then add in some shadows and subtle reflections of red and gold.

Zab - Clearly he went over to BAM's house and stepped in all the chewed gum he has lying around everywhere.

Ole - Great to see you around again! It did have a kind of granite look to it. It's still being worked on though, I must've added about a thousand dots now, and it could use a thousand more.

beautiful work, I specially like the NMM gold and the cape. That cherry red is awesome too. and those blue details add punch to the overall!
On the other and I agree with KB on the uneveness, but you have said you are still working on it so... ^^

Alright, I finished Ahriman and have put up pictures in the CMON gallery and Putty & Paint. I still want to do the big freehand on the base in time for WME in July, but I also wanted to get started on another project. Up next is Papa Jambo from BCC's Black Sailors. No pictures yet, all I've done so far is clean and prime.

I believe your orc has crabs, there is a special cream for that if he consults his physician Interesting combo with the Pelican.

Guawol: Cream is no use, they just keep coming back, they're like super crabs.

Alright, here's the beginning of Papa Jambo, focusing on the head first:

Always nice seeing a non-green greenskin.

Cracking work on the face. I've seen a few finished versions of this mini in the past and they were all great. This looks like it might be right up there with them

Whooooa ,you were bold enough to try it and the dividends are immense. This is wonderfully thought out ,both execution technically and of course the choice of color. This will be amongst the best Papahs when done.. you continue to improve at a very fast rate Derek me dear boy.

Fox, BAM, thank you! I'm really trying to push my limits on this one. It's the last thing I'm painting before World Model Expo so I want devote as many hours as possible to make this my best piece ever.

Leathery, sun baked flesh tones are looking really nice so far. Good to see a fresh take on this one and great to hear you are really pushing yourself to new levels.
