Thanks guys, here he is about 95% done. I still need to fix some blends here and there and a few extra touches, but I'm going to put him aside for now and get back to work on the giant troll.

In other news, I saw the list of classes available at Adepticon this year and it looks like a lot of the heavy hitters from Europe will be there again. I thought since World Model Expo was in Chicago only 4 moths after Crystal Brush most of them would only go to that (travel prices being what they are and all). But I guess I was wrong! It's going to be another amazing competition and I look forward to competing against them, all the great US painters and all you CMON painters that come here in March.

After St. Mark was finished I got back to working on some other projects. Here's where I'm at on the Ren bust:

Thanks a lot guys! The banner still needs many hours of work, got to do all the gold, put some writing on it, the skulls need more work and Cthulhu needs some more texture. Plus there's the back, I have no idea what to do on the back. The good news, now that half my entries for Crystal Brush are useless, I have tons of time to work on it!

Data my boy!!! The brewer of miniature painting has leveled up every year since he was a tiny rookie of mini painting comps!!! But he's all grown up now and has2 tours under his belt!!! The Europeans will be pleased .. Now it's a comp!!!

Alright, another figure has been started. I swear I'll finish the other ones too! But with the news of CB merging categories, the troll and Slaanesh rider will have to wait as they can no longer be used as entries. There's only three months 'til the comp and I need to focus on only those minis I can bring. This is the start of the Eternal Crusader from Michael Kontraros, it's 75mm and will be my large scale entry. I'm going to try to sculpt a backpack to make him look like a true space marine, but who knows how that will turn out.

Thanks, Maenas, hopefully I can keep it up. I've never painted black armor this way before, will be quite the challenge. Today was the last time I got to paint before 10 days of holiday travel, so I worked on the head.

Thanks John, I learned so much from last years event, this year I'm coming in a much stronger painter.
ST, the break was torture. I had just started this great model and had to walk away from it. I spent every day imagining I was painting, thinking of colors to glaze on the flesh, how to do the robes, what the base will be like, etc. I hope to have 6 entries, but I don't even have the bust I want to paint yet. If I don't get it in time I could just bring Kylo Ren.

Update on the templar, here the tabard is about 90% done, everything else on the torso is just a base coat:
