The ettin arrived yesterday. He is almost complete, so I imagine I\'ll just go ahead and finish him up (he has one club, the base and a couple small areas of fur left to go).

Cool Darth. So does he look as spectacular as the pictures would indicate?

I\'m going to go ahead and get mine listed and ready to go back out into the cold hard world again...... AFTER I get back from the beach... lol

Cheers,

Interesting problem I\'d like some input on folks.

When i oppened up the package from FrenchKid with the mini below in it, the tissue that the mini was wrapped with had adhered to the hand (with pointing finger):

I tried to clean the tissue off with water, but it was truely imbedded into the sealer. In my efforts to get the tissue off, most of the paint on that hand came off with the tissue.

So, I will clean and reprime the hand (carefully). Then what? Should I try to repaint it, or leave it for someone else, or......

Thoughts?

Cheers,
grumb

P.S. - I really like this mini and think I\'m going to have to order one for myself. :D

guess I\'ll have to keep that in mind for futur wrapings. Funny thing is, the mini had been dry for quit some time when I wrapped it.

I\'d say just repainnt the area where the paint came off. I think the colors used where from the andrea skin paint set.

It was really strange Arthur, the only place that the wrapping stuck to him was the hand....the rest of the mini came away clean.

I couldn\'t believe it when the paint came off, I was using a wet brush to try to remove the tissue from his hand, and the paint peeled right off.

I\'ll just repaint the hand to match as best I can. I don\'t have any of the Andrea paints, I\'ll try to fill in with the Vallejo skintones.

Here is what he currently looks like, sorry for the quick and dirty pictures.

Well, actually...

I actually got a chance to sit down and start working on the dwarf last night. I thought I would post this as a WIP. Here are the pictures after I primed the chainmail with black prior to painting it. I always like to base my metallics with black versus the white that the mini was primed.

I will start with a drybrush of Vallejo chainmail, then mix it up with some mithril silver, working up to Vallejo metal medium for the final highlights. There will be a few washes of Tamaya smoke in between.

Anyway, here is the fisrt set of pics. I\'ll post the others as I work the metal up from black:

Sorry folks, hate to double post, but I wanted to get these pics up before I lost them. Finally got to put some actual paint on this mini. I had intended to photo each step of the of the painting process, but quite honestly got caught up in the painting and didn\'t stop long enough to take pictures....sorry.

Scary how you can see the flaws when the pics are so much bigger than the real figure. Needs a couple more washes...

Yep, but then highlighted up again after. Think I\'m going to do another wash with thick smoke, then add some black ink to hit the shaded areas. The metal came out MUCh brighter than I wanted. Might give it a wash with Vallejo smoke which is more brown as well...not sure yet.
