I got my girlfriend a dozen roses, gave them to her tonight (yes it\'s a romantic evening, but she\'s on the phone right now ) because we\'ll be apart on Wednesday. Thing is, I picked out some very nice \"antique\" colour roses (whites and pinks and oranges) at a florist and they didn\'t cost an arm and a leg. Red roses are overrated, these ones look really lovely - yes, she thinks so too

But yes, in the past I have paid a ridiculous sum for a dozen red roses on V-day, that was in my callow youth however, with a very different woman.

Amen to that However I got my friend something for V-day and we\'re not even dating (yet!) Then again, random gifting is something I do all the time, and on rare occassions I use a good old fashioned holiday as an excuse!

Anyway I just hope we can at least spend a little time together Wednesday. I have an exam at 11am and 6:30pm at university, and two more the next day. And she has one on both the 14th and 15th as well. Huzzah!
