Thanks Uncle Hex.
I experimented with the mounted armature thing but found it WAY too restrictive for the way I go about things. The whole time I sculpt I am CONSTANTLY repositioning the limbs to check proportion and such to be sure of symmetry ( which is highly important to me. ) Also I do not plan to pose a fig until I have done the anatomy of the torso, lower legs, and fore arms. With these done I have an easier reference of scale and can just \" fill in the blanks \" as appropriate.
I am sure that with experience my approach may change radically but for now I am getting along fairly well..........
I just realized something..... In those pics you cannot see a length of armature wire extending from the torsowhere the neck is, at least twice the heighth of the figure. That is how I handle them and \" mount them to dry.
I do this because I think the head should be last... Or at least for me that is most comfortable so far.
That drop forge thing, is there more info you can provide on that? Like how it is done? I have thought about just doing generic anatomy templates and casting them to have a greater number o ffigs in production and to make things a bit more efficient. However I did not know how to go about it. I thought it was not such a good idea until you said something about it.
I will definitely keep a going progress report on my minis. the advice I have gotten here has been too invaluable not to have for future projects.
Again Thanks for the encouragement and advice.
