After a zillion years in the making, any opinions on Chinese Democracy?

I listened to a few trax and was underimpressed........have to give it another go maybe. Just didn\'t have the horsepower of the old \'Gunners\'.

Havent heard it yet - but think its overblown just from the hype, well and the fact that Axl Rose is involved.

It\'s not great. Not terrible, but not great.

All that time.
All that money spent.
And it doesn\'t impress me, either.
Some interesting new sounds for GnR, but it lacks.... life. Pretty stale.
The only positive thing I can really say for it is it isn\'t just straight cookie-cutter chords.
Too many rambling beginnings and no oomph to back them up. It\'s almost like listening to one of those Solitudes nature discs, with a drum beat and some guy yelling in the far background.

I\'ve only heard the title track on the radio. From what I\'ve heard I really like it. I\'ll probably buy the album at some point.

Didn\'t care for them when I was in Jr High, and don\'t really care that they managed a new album. So, meh.

i saw them a moster\'s of rock can\'t remember the year and they were the best rock group on the planet at the time.
And the last was at wembley stadium for there illusion tour in the early 90\'s and have to say that is the best concert i have ever bin to. I went out on monday to buy the new album and im sory to say it was poor you can tell there is no slash, duffy it\'s just not G&R anymore

Oh, and for someone like me who prefer old school hard rock, this year is quite good. We have new release from G\'n\'R, AC/DC, Metallica. What more can you ask for?

I\'m probably one of the biggest G\'N\'R fans I know having bought all there albums and bootleg live albums from the start, I bought Chinese Democracy and I\'m sad to say it is the biggest pile of *$@£ I\'ve listened to lately, I gave it a chance, I put it on a few more times. Unfortunately it\'s not one of these albums that grows on you it just gets worse and worse and more and more of a disappointment

I was REALLY hoping for it to be great but after 15 years he should have just left it in the recording studio.

Gunners mate!

Never liked Guns \'n\' Roses. I still feel proud that I was one of very few to not attend the much talked about Gunners concert while still in high school. I think even the sewerage rats went to that concert. I liked Slash\'s guitar tone on a few tracks and used to bash \'Welcome To The Jungle\' & \'Sweet Child Of Mine\' out on guitar in the ol\' school music room. But apart from that, there music has never appealed to me. It\'s got something to do with Axel Rose\'s singing I think. Anyway, I chose to go and see Jeff Buckley perform instead. One of the best live concerts I\'ve ever ever been to!

How\'s the new AC/DC (saw them two months before Bonn Scott died. UNBELIEVEABLE!!).

New AC/DC is pretty weak. Their heart just doesn\'t seem to be in it anymore. I do think there is a time when your age prevents you from rockin\' it old school and some of todays acts are really, really, pushing it.

Bought it right away on the release date, played it once and didn\'t think alot to it to be honest but after giving it another few plays with the volume up I think it is bloody great.
Not the same as the old GnR but with only Axle left of the original lineup you would expect that.
I think that it has been over hyped and therefore the expectancy levels were higher but still a great album. By the way it was Donnington 88 GnR played the best gig ever Helloween, Megadeth, GnR, David Lee Roth, Kiss, Iron Maiden a crowd of over a 100,000 that was the pinnacle of the Monsters of Rock festival.
The new AC/DC album is the dogs danglies too btw.

Meh, I\'m just underwhelmed by the new releases from the old classic bands. I know we can\'t expect every album to be \"Appetite for Destruction\" or anything but so many of the newer albums just reek of lack of effort. Chinese Democracy just didn\'t make the cut for me. I\'ll keep the old stuff in the player for now.

Black Ice just didn\'t hack \'er for me either. I\'m not embarrased to have paid for either album they just won\'t see the light of day after about a week from now.

But nobody puts out worse efforts than the last couple Ozzy Albums. Eeeeek!

he\'s an a-hole, his band is not gnr anymore so why bother buying the flippin cd. i\'d rather have bamboo implanted into my nails than throw down money to help pay his rent.

If we restricted our entertainment dollars to supporting people we would actually want to be in a room with.... I dunno, doesn\'t leave much.

He\'s got an ego for sure. I can\'t imagine what my personality would devolve into if I played packed stadiums and got every single thing I wanted on this earth!
