One of the miniatures I painted up specially for World Expo. I finished this one three hours before heading to the airport. :) I never learn...

I love Raul Latorre\'s sculpts and this one is no exception. Also fun to work on bigger scales than 30-ish mm. Expect to see more from me.

Hope you like it and votes and comments are of course welcome!

You know I\'ver never really thought of this mini as a Gnome, more of a generic Barbarian, because I\'ve never seen it in comparison to another Figure.

Again, it\'s a showcase for great painting.

beautiful work as usual. I like the way that the figure manages to harmonize with the base colour. However i think that the metal around his waste is a little to similer to the skin tone. A 9 from me.

I love the hair, wonder who encouraged you to do that? The rest is rubbish! :D A 10 but still rubbish!

God I\'m bad at this slanting thing... :p but I\'m just so bitter that I couldn\'t go and meet up with everyone. Sounds like THE event of the year! Well I hope I make the trip to Stockholm before fall.

Nonono... THE event of the next THREE YEARS!

But yeah, get your ass down to Stockholm soon! That would be great! :)

Wow... haven\'t seen any of your work in a couple months. Realize now what I\'ve been missing.

Great work. Very smooth.

I, uh, erm... I normally wouldn\'t say this about a guy but I wouldn\'t mind seeing a close up of the belly.

Yup. That\'s a pretty cool effect. Like... I\'m pretty sure I could do it. I just probably wouldn\'t have.

Wonderfully done.

I was a bit reluctant to do it myself, actually. I thought about doing it because the sculpt is a bit weird in the stomach and chest area and hair would sort of detract a bit from that, but I didn\'t have much time left and I was afraid of ruining things. But, then I showed som WIP shots to Sven (Avelorn) and he suggested I\'d paint some hair and then I pretty much knew I had to. I am not 100% happy with it, but at least it looks much better with it than it did without.

Thanks for the comments everyone! :)

This is my favorite enigma mini. I get rea lexcited when someone new posts their vision of it and this is no exception. The skin looks fantastic and I like the hairy texture on his chest, it gives the mini a nice touch.

One question about the weapon. The stone blade (I guess it\'s suppose to be stone) had so mant textures and striations on it... did you drybrush it at all to bring out the detail or did you paint each detail at a time?

Great work!

No, I didn\'t drybrush the axe blade. I painted those in one at the time and individually highlighted them.

The base coat was a mix of Citadel Shining Gold, VMC Field Blue (just a dash) and VMC Cadmium Maroon (or Black Red, as it seems to be called now). I then applied numerous glazes with VMC German Cam. Black Brown, Cad Maroon and Field Blue. Next step, apply thin glazes with base coat where I want the shine. Highlight by adding Citadel Mithrill Silver to the base coat and some hot spots with VMC Metallic Medium.
