Evening all (well it is here).
I\'ve just whacked up some pictures of my latest labour of love (and cold hard cash).

Rackham horsey

I never really liked the Lions of Alahan stuff, until I painted this. It was a joy from start to finish and made me decide to buy some to paint for myself.
All comments are welcome.:D

And from the start to finish that is one awesome job! :D Pretty flawless but I have two nitpicks. The red cloth is very nicely excecuted but the final highlight is a bit harsh comparingly (seems so on the photo) It could have used a final sheen on some more places aswell. I think you could also mix in a little bit more yellow to the white in the highlightcolour. And secondly the freehand could have been a bit more interesting and slightly lower down on the banner. I really love the rest! Exquisite work! 9.5 from me! :)

Very nicely done. I love the way you did the horse in more subdued tones, it helps bring the eye directly to the character. I have some of these in my \"to be painted\" box, may have to bust them out. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for all the compliments and comments folks.

@Avelorn, I think the lighting may be what makes the final highlights on the red robes look a bit stark. My photo set up is minimalist and at this time of the year in Manchester good sunlight is pretty scarce. The photo was taken on a window ledge with sunlight from the left and daylight bulb from the right.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a submission to get approved? This went in on Tuesday, has 45 votes and is still pending?:(

Bloody beautiful paintjob, i think the red looks just right and the nmm is perfect - very natural colours and lighting.

How did you make the rock on the base? i like it very much.

It is not perfect, but very very close, so 9.5. Great job!

Edit: Scratch the rock question, i just read the description, Thanks!
