Alien vs Predator

I saw 5 minutes of it on Satellite tv and thought it was the biggest pile of Diarrhoea, ever to have money spent on it. I would have rather that the money went to a Conceptual Artist!
How come L.Ron Hubbard managed to get some 13 or so other writers to give him their manuscripts so that he could publish them under his name? Alledgedly.

I have just experienced the opposite effect.
I put on the DVD of \'The 10th Kingdom\'....just to check the DVD was OK you understand...
8 bloody hours later I am still glued to the damn thing.....
Talk about double cheese with a cheese topping and some extra cheese....
Couldn\'t take my eyes off it though....possibly because I was expecting SO little.....

Sigh...the book is really good.
I thought AVP was VERY entertaining.
I went into the movie not expecting much.
I found the whole thing very satisfying and the only thing I had issues with was the changing \"maze\" every 10 minutes which just stopped halfway into the movie.
I did not expect the type of movie that Alien was at the time ( which I remember scared the crap outta me) nor was I expecting a great action movie like AlienS or Predator were. I did expect it to be better than the last two Alien movies. I thought Fox had just about killed the whole Alien aspect when it followed the crappy Alien 3 with that crap they called Alien Resurrection.
I was not wholly impressed with Predator 2 as well.
I did, however, follow the Graphic novels that Dark Horse put out fairly religiously.
I thought the movie paid great homage to those novels.
I would definitely go see it again.

Very entertaining! I didn\'t go to this movie hoping for some strange enlightenment or expecting it to win any awards. I heard tons of bad press before going and expected the worst. I got considerably more out of this one than I thought I would. The plot is way iffy at best and some of the action was hard to see given how dark and bouncy the camera was, but I didn\'t feel cheated. I went to be entertained and I was. I was pretty suprised at the rate they killed people. Those aliens were eating faces and taking names! I would have liked more of the \"hunt\" (predator action) and a little less \"Luckily I\'m fluent in Cambodian, Egyptian, and Aztec heiroglyphics\" (I\'m barely 30 and yet I am so smart. S-M-R-T. I mean S-M-A-R-T.) Not the best thing I\'ve ever seen, but far from the worst. (Battlefield Earth is possible the worst and at the very least deep in the dregs). All in all, I\'m going to reccomend this one. (And I like speaking in parantheticals ) And is there any place that makes or sells predator miniatures? The smallest I have found is 1/8th and they are crazy expensive.

I went to see AVP, and I have to say I was definitely pleased. It might not be the best movie, but it fulfilled what I wanted, and I don\'t at all regret spending my money on it.

Copplestone also makes (\"unofficial\" i.e. knock-off) Preddies. Theirs look nicer than the GZG ones (I just bought a couple and they are flashy casts of mediocre sculpts, but only 1£ each
). Copplestone\'s look very clean, good poses, and both helmet on & off are available:
They\'re more expensive though, and only available in 4-packs for £6.50. As for Aliens... well those have been OOP for ages, good luck getting any!

Well, I have to weigh in on the side that liked it. I was very apprehensive about going after reading the reception it got here, but like DennisMech said, it \"fulfilled what I wanted\". It also got me thinking, a maze that changes every so often would make a wickedly evil thing to spring on my gaming group. WA HA HAA The ending was a little chessy, but you HAD to see it coming.....and probably would have been disappointed if it hadn\'t ended that way. Nuff said bought that.

...armed with the thoughts that I should be prepared to turn on my anti suck ray and scream \"turn down the suck\" throughout the film to stop from turning mad...lol It may have helped...

Well I liked it better than 3 but not as much as Resurection. Good things: they didn\'t break and major Alien or Preditor mythos. Bad thing: The plot is largly derivitive of the Aliens plot. Tuff chick goes in as guide for the \"experts\". Everyone dies, they back off and nuke the Aliens. Tuff chick drops queen down a hole.
I didn\'t feel ripped off of my money but then I only payed half price for my ticket.
