Are you referring to the fact that he\'s been posting since 2006? Hardly matters to me and the basement. Or the fact that he\'s \"green\"? I know, green can\'t be fresh but hey, I take \'em where I can get \'em.

@freakinacage: NO you DON`T wanna know what it´d be like if the Nazis would have won the second world war... over the course of the last years some secret documents of the govermnet of the 3rd Reich were discovered, plans for what to do after the war ... basically they wanted to reduce the population of east europe to slaves who would have learned in school that theyre worth less than dirt and after this they planned to get rid of the christians to replace christianity with they´re own crude version of the old norse religion...some kind of warrior religion in which women woould have jhad no rights .. and i guess i don´t have to tell you what they would have done with the people in africa. Believe me the thought of it is pure horror.

back to the topic: i think the revolution was inevitable and also important : the fact that a democratic movement was actually abble to beat the biggest millitary power of it´s time (with help of the french and the aid of a prusian millitary advisor ) was an important sign that resistant was not futile

Interesting that you chose the line that Jefferson (White, landed, and slave owning) plagerized from Thomas Payne to make your point.

Edit - Cause at the time to vote, you had to be at least male and propertied, and rich didn\'t hurt one bit - look at a list of the signers of that document - the closest one to being poor was Jefferson - and he owned a huge chunk of Virginia.

And I\'m a native American - I was born there - you\'re referring to the original immigrants, and unfortunately you\'re prolly wrong there too - cause they were just as busy wiping each other out as the secondary immigrants were.

Even the people who wrote the declaration (or were key in forming the document) had feelings about slavery. It was something that was debated endlessly and delayed the signing for quite some time acctually. However in the interest of getting the damn thing over with the north gave in to the south on that matter. Maybe unfortunate but sometimes things like this HAVE to happen in order to START the change. In the end (and probably much later than SHOULD have happened) rights have been won for all people not allowed liberties at the time including women, minorities and people who did not own land. Remember, this was a time when you didn\'t have many rights if you weren\'t a white male and owned land. We do an injustice judging those people by today;s standards.

Now I\'ll go hide in the freakbar and wait for the fallout that happens EVERY TIME I, as a woman, open my mouth on something not \"mini related\" or having to do with teasing people. Some people\'s views are still kind of archaic. Ever wonder why there aren\'t that many women on the site and why most of them don\'t get involved in these kind of discussions? I know why. Believe me.

Some of us \'men\' (term used loosely here) are able to see the value of a person by means of their contributions and perspectives, rather than their genitals.

Dan, sorry mate but you\'ve got your time scales out. American Revolution was 20 years before Napoleon.

I also have limited knowledge being British, but I\'d imagine even if it DIDN\'T happen, America would still be independent now, much like the rest of the commonwealth countries.
Yep an inevitability due to the distance and communication issues.
