Actually, I do understand this. You need to have them just ripe to really make the decision, and most grocers and restaurants don't understand this (or care). I'm in avocado country, so I might be able to change your mind if you're ever nearby in the early summer.

Why ruin perfectly good alcohol:
Brandy should be drunk slowly, warmed and alongside a rich cup of black coffee.
Bailey's should be shared, with a significant other and no distractions, or disturbances.

Unfortunately, the good stuff gives me heartburn - a legacy of my college days, when I foolishly didn't understand the concept of drinking to enjoy my alcohol. Now my body is such that I'm not really afforded a chance to. All I can really handle anymore is my aunt's Christmas egg nog, and then only a very small glass. She likes to serve it both ways, and I like both.

I love avocado. Even just mashed up on toast it's delicious But I think it would be weird with egg! I'll have to give it a try.

Thanks for that egg nog recipes link, I am planning to make some for Xmas and that will be very useful.
I don't think I'll be going for Baileys or Brandy though. Rum all the way. But then I have a bit of a thing for Rum.
