Somehow I don\'t think Belgareth would approve.

OK so he\'s 75, had the sports car since the 70\'s so we know he\'s been dealing with gas in a car for at least 30 years and he tosses a burning bit of paper on watered down gas... as carlos would say... DEE DEE DEE!

Thats it, not reading anymore of his books! ;)

Actually, the first thing that me go :duh: was the fact that he was flushing out his gas tank with water!

After that it was all downhill...

And this is why we must have mandatory re-testing for driver\'s licenses in the US starting at age 65. This man obviously should have his keys talen away.

well at least he admits to the lack of forsight,

\"One word comes to mind,\" the renowned wordsmith said as he stood in a pajama shirt and slippers. \"Dumb.\"

God I stopped reading his books LONG ago. Mainly because it sounded like they were written by a guy with dementia! And now I have the final evidence.

I went through a time when I loved his books. Then I noticed the next series was the same as the first one. And the pattern continued.

Anyway, sounds like it was almost a Darwin Award.

Thats it exactly. When I read the second series I kept on thinking I was accidentally reading the first again. Very weird.

Sounds like listening to Vivaldi.

Similar anecdote, only less interesting because it doesn\'t involve someone famous:

My dad has a stove over his fireplace. Une day he moved the stove away from the fireplace to see how much creosote had accumulated. Unsure if the black residue he found was creosote, he put a match to it and ignited the inside of his chimney. The heat cracked the brick along the outside of the fireplace, and my dad extinguished the flames by putting the stove back in place over the fireplace.

He paid for the damage to be repaired, including installing a new heat resistant insulated pipe in the chimney, then contacted his insurance company to make a note of the change on his policy.
\"Okay, sir, we\'ll send an adjuster over right away and get you a reimbursement for the repairs.\"
\"No, you don\'t understand. I just wanted to tell you about the change, not get reimbursed for the repairs. The fire was caused by my own stupidity.\"
\"Sir, you are insured for stupidity. lol
