The metal (apart from a few studs and rivets) is done! The chain mail posed a problem but thanks to a bit of advice from lee I think it turned out very well with a very quick easy bit of dry brushing. Moving on to the material and leather tonight. Got a fancy free hand in mind for the cloak.

Yep the chainmail has turn out great. Its tempting to highlight the whole area but in leaving the shadows much improves the contrast :good:

Excellent! I hope you really go nuts on the cape. That should provide a really nice soft contrast to all that hard, dark armor.

Yep Saint started on the freehand on the cloak a lot yet to do on it borders lettering weathering glazing etc but I must say I'm very pleased with it so far.

That yellow eye is creeeepy. I love it! The blue really makes the gold NMM come together with the rest of the model.

Getting to the end of the free hand the border on the cape is done now went for a Celtic knot type pentagram and simple squared border. Glazing to smooth transitions on the green definitely need to be done yet and some staining and weathering yet then onto more work on the leather. Maybe some more freehand on the gauntlets mmmmmm don't know. I think I'm on track to get this done for next weekend (just!).

loving that border andy good work. if you wanna do freehand on the gauntlets make it subtle. ou don't want to detract from your awesome shiny armor or your big cape freehand

Andy, I feel you need to work on the rays from the skull as they are not nearly as good as the rest of the awesomeness. They seem unfinished imho.

Quick update getting towards the end some tidying up on the armbands and some freehand on the gloves and then base him.

Productive evening based roughly but glazing on the rocks needed yet. Freehand on the gloves to do yet and the leather on the axe needs a lot of work also not happy with the gold skull in the axe pommel going to redo that also some general weathering to do so quite a lot of work yet fingers crossed finished for Saturday!
