The leather clad barbarian is a stunner. Spot on subtley toned NMM, and depth of texture on the leather apron. That skin tone and texture though is the icing on the cake though. You should be very please with this.

Stunning stuff

Love the composition and both figures suit to each other, looks very dynamic!.

But maybe study it a bit further as it seems a difficult setup to take pictures of. Because the column is in the middle, and the raised arm of the banshee has robes that block the sight of those things behind.. so in between the column and the robes some work on the banshee can get lost.

Maybe moving them a bit far from the column maintaining their positions works (specially the banshee)... maybe it's just me picking up... I just wanted to make you aware of what I thought ;)

As i said mate great composition , it might be worth changing and using a warhammer shield design if this is going in GD?

Taken the banshee off so I can get access to the dwarf and I will move it slightly to the left so as to get it away from the obscuring pillar. Yep lee will replace the shield with a GW be just trying to find a vampire counts one I only have chaos ones.

Any way way started on the dwarf skin.

Another great pick of mini for you to display your amazing NMM on all those enormous axe-heads! I also like that the figures you've selected are not such an obvious pair for a duel.
My only suggestions would be to double check to make sure the dwarf's eyes aren't fixed higher than where his enemy will eventually stand. If they're lined up, don't mind me!

Awesome article. Really shows the level of thought you out into every aspect of painting. It's inspiring, and slightly daunting, stuff

I hope it was of use I really liked doing it.

The dwarf is very nearly finished onto the banshee soon.
