WTF! 6.9! Dude your a GD finalist pin holder a honourable mention type thing by being in the salute 2012 magazine with your barbarian and a consistent mid to high 8 on the voting. I saw the mini and it was a beautiful blue blend on the coat and a great job on the face.

Andy - your work has come on loads but I think its time to go for something completely different. If I were you I would drop the NMM and fleshtones and try something very different. Going out of your comfort zone is the best way to improve. My Grimgor was a move away from the NMM and spacemarines I'd been playing with and came as such a nice change. Made me step up a notch!

Good points Will watch this space in a couple of months got something coming up that is definately out of my comfort zone.
Anyway for now I have near enough finished the Inquisitor. For me I've zoomed through it very easy to paint.
Any comments and thoughts would be good.
Will take some proper pics tommorow and post on submisions.

I love my bob olley ogres
Gone old school and out of my comfort zone shading wise using opposing colours for shading for the first time rather than darker shades such as black. Instead using greens and purples etc. love this 80's bob Olley sculpt of an ogre mercenary. Looks like its been sculpted with a chainsaw but heck I love him. Trying to do chainmail nmm weird effects. Sorry about the photos had to use my mobile phone as the wife had my new camera. Better pics next time

Got back from euro with my eyes widend. Got to thin my paints even more and have to up the contrast by a huge amount got to go all the way from black to white shadows to topmost highlite. Ye gods feel like a rank amature.
Any way before i embark on a real humdinger I am going to finish this ogre off because despite everything said I have a real soft spot for old school.

Looking good andy. Quite old school paint job I think which is nicely in keeping with the mini itself. Some smoothing needed to my eyes but thats the only c&c at the moment.

Yeah will filter to make the transitions more smooth. Thinking of a nice base for it as well and maybe send the finished pics on to Bob Olley see if he can make use of them on his website. I strongly recomend lovers of old school to have a look at his site it brought a very nostalgic smile to my face and as he is a one man band and I'm firmly of the opinion we should support outfits like him.

Nice Inquisitor Andy, its quite a mesmerizing blue on the robes, I like it. Your Bob Olly ogre is looking good to, I would normally say an old school mini requires an old school paintjob as well but then I thought, well maybe not, might be worth trying something different with one. I do have a few of old school figures myself still so I might experiment when i get around to them. eventually, lol.
