Started a dark heresy miniature the chaos lord space marine damn its a good sculpt for a plastic mini got to say even though im a dyed in the wool GW hater they aint half doing some good minis of late! If they can just start charging vaguely reasonable prices and get rid of Finecrap then shudder cringe I may start buying their stuff again..retch..... cant believe I just said that:)

Dont worry, the models coming up for warhammer chaos are 95% toecurlingly ugly.

So pigs arent flying yet

Been working on the armour of the space marine lord trying to get a glossy red enammel type finish. In two minds wether to do any wearing and scuffs on it.

Got another project a super secret one the most excellent one ever you will all drool when you see it but its taking a lot of prep. (Jiggles up and down with supressed glee);)

That red really POP's out againts the black., Keep the inside of the cape dark to keep the effect imo. Nice mini.

Yep stick to the "new" armour style, its a change from the norm and would remind me of japanese laquerd armour.

Mmmnnyyyeaaah I dunno. It looks technically well done, but doesn't really fit the miniature I think.

If you want to fiddle with laquered armor a purple would be better, with silver edging for a more emperors children look.

This red armor would just make him the laughing stock of the world eaters

I really like the red you've got going on there - very nice. Make sure the eyes are green for contrast! Some osl too would be cool. :)

Cheers lads. I know what you mean marjedi and I always used to highlite my reds with oranges and yellows because when you lighten with white it goes pink which I thought was always bad. But when i realy started looking at red stuff in the light it realy realy is pink on the highlites, weird but true. So taken the plunge and gone with it and you know what i think its right. But hey you got to go with what feels right to you eh?:)

Right doing the gold trim now. Feck its hard to get shading and glints on something only one or two mm across!

Very nice. Ive been looking at the GW painting of this mini and noticed because of the complex details all over they have used very extreme edge highlighting all over. I reckon it's the only way to pick out all those details
