Loving your work mate. Took a couple of days to look through it all. Very inspiring. That ophidian soldier whatsit kinda reminds me of the mystics from the dark crystal. I wonder if you can get dark crystal minis? Anyway keep it up, I'll be looking forward to seeing more.

Nice work, great colour on the skin, you have a lot of contrast, something that I seem to not get right :)

here we go some more pics still sh*ty photo gonna have to get the proper camera out and do it in the sunlight. Going to do the base soon.

WOW! Love the colors but I think the background takes some pop out of the clothing - skin is perfect. Maybe add a bit more gray to the background? I dunno - shooting in the dark here. lol! Still...lovely...well..as far as the ugly beasties go. ;)

Cheers guys. Master splinter I use windsor and newton series 7 kolinsky sable brushes 1 and 0. Accept no substitutes! Generaly I prime with black and then base coat with the mid tone thinned down with water and glaze medium and using a dimple pallet I will blend up through about 4 or 5 layers towards the top highlite and then down form the midtone in the shadows to almost black desaturating with black or dark grey through about the same number of layers. I then slap a wash of very thinned down midtone to pull everything together. Then redo the highlites upto pure white v thinned down. Recently (not with this one) Ive been adding washes between every couple of layers to realy smooth things out though that very time consuming!!

Any way based him so heres some pics;I will take some proper pics in the sunlight tommorow.

Looks great!

I'm learning to love my W&N again. Unfortunately, I can't get the ones I want in stock any more. I tried DaVinci and really like the 1505 Miniaturist but again, I'm always a day late and a dollar short. One of the reps I spoke to at a store suggested the DaVinci Ussuri Sable Series 36. It's a 2/0 but about equal to the W&N 0. It's leaner on the belly and the tip isn't as fine but for doing inital highlights and shading, like over large muscles. It rocks! I really like it.

Sorry just had to throw that out there, lol!
