I think so it doesn't look as bad as I thought it might. I've upped the green again on the mini so its far enough away from Ultramarines to cope with the gold.

Bit more done the holster and the tassels also tidied up the gold on the shoulder pad with the flying skeleton thingy.

No I had no time at my lunch break I had to paint after lunch ......er no didn't honest erm last night that's it yes last night just didn't post till now ;)

hrrrrm mate, just realized if this is for GD you know you're on some thin ice here, as the event is for LOYAL marines only. Not sure how to classify Alpha Legion, im sure there are better experts than me here.

Yeah we'll this is just before they went bad that's what I think and anyway the alpha legion are only bad because they couldn't stand seeing the emperor stuck as a living corpse so it is for the emperor ;)

well i wouldnt travel from sweden with an alpha legion space marine to enter in this gd anyway :) not sure they going to buy that "before they went bad" as the 30k miniatures are made for the horus heresy, and im pretty sure all the legions in 30k isnt allowed in this gd.

face it there are traitor legions and there are loyal legions. Poooo yaaaaaaaa but im going to leave it there :)

I hope they let it compete as I've spent a while on it I thought all the forgeworld stuff could be considered before the heresy so loyal but hey ho see what happens.

any way nearly finished it needs some weathering and basing.

Don't think its the paint, in fact im sure, its just the quality of the sculpted hair, I never liked this top Knott Horus hairstyle personally id cut it off and give him one of those Centurion scrubbing brush combs instead.

Ah well yeah I know what you mean but I'm not gonna do that now as I've been painting him on and off for the last month so it stays unfortunately. Other than the hair I have really enjoyed painting this mini a very nice sculpt if a little off beat with the baton and the gargoyle mask. So all done now other than a legend for the base saying something like pre heresy alpha legion consul ;)

Very boringly id be an Ultramarine best equipment most loyal reliable biggest etc etc and definitely pre (all the best gizmos graviton guns Voltaire guns just big guns full stop plus the anti grav jetbike things that the imperium cant make any more. Also loads of archeotech still nocking about.

Cheers lads for the kind comments. I'd have replied earlier but I've been very distracted with the worst toothache I've ever had. F*ck me I've broken bones even been stabbed in the wrist but this took the biscuit for pain! Just unending three nights of virtually no sleep until the antibiotics kicked in....well the damn things coming out tomorrow!

Anyway I've just sat down and had a go at this nocturna usurper (conan) mini. It says it's 54mm but no way is it as its considerably smaller than a gw mini. Very fine sculpt but he looks a tad boyish for the bloody handed reaver he was supposed to be.
