That ape's too scary to joke around with. That ape's paintsjob is looking so awesome it'll be difficult to ape as well.

Too right Meph he's one Angry Ape! I'm thinking of calling the piece "Right who took my f*cking banana!"

Just did did a first pass on the gold. Got some advice from Sproket and went with an antique gold colour. Couldn't bring myself to go TMM though; but still desaturated the yellow. Lots more to do on the gold it needs tidying right up and a couple of obvious mistakes need rectifying but for a first pass I'm happy.

Doesn't look like much but I spent longer doing the shading and tidying up the gold than it did to paint it in th first place. Still not happy work to do but getting the major parts done.

Cheers Dave means a lot coming from you.

done some more not happy with the skirt going to redo. Keep the green as a base but definately needs working on far to rough. Hammers ok and done some more on the armour which I'm starting to be happy with. Thinking about the base and twiddly stuff like saliva blood weathering etc. here's the latest.

That mouth looks seriously aggressive! What a cool mini! I think he needs wings though. One more project to add to the "someday" list :)

Good work Andy, I really like black fur. Do you plan to raise more contrast on gold parts? Because some of them looks flat now. For example central chest part.

Cheers guys! Persifal Ive upped the contrast as much as possible the problem is the flat metal is well er flat. Any way near enough done now decided no free hand on the skirt tried several different patterns none suited. So gems done and on to the base.

Amazing work on the gorilla. He looks seriously pissed. The armor looks great, the fur is incredible. You have really done a lot with a very limited palette.
I think the skirt looks a little unfinished, though, compared to the rest. I guess I feel like it just doesn't measure up texturally to the work you've got everywhere else. I don't think you need a freehand design.
Bear in mind I could definitely not do as well. I'd still give you a 10 overall!

I could well come back to the cloth and also do some more work on the armour and fur. However I need a break to give a little perspective so I've based him and I am going to concentrate on that for a few days. Here's a quick look gone for jungle ruin. By the way I'm in the market for hirst moulds as my darling wife threw mine out by mistake arghhhhh!
