Cheers Stef I enjoyed monkey boy but I gotta say I've got to agree to disagree over the Thor sculpt it's lovely. Maybe it's because you get to see him flying through the air all the time up in chilly willy Sweden and you get to see what he's really like eh?

Anyway I've made a start.

You're off to a great start. I like the skin mix you've got. Are you planning to add a little more color to the face (like red in the cheeks)? I think a little bit there would be nice, though I wouldn't go overboard with it on a figure like this.

And I agree, I rather like the Thor sculpt. I'll definitely be watching this project!

haha yeah mate you know, see him every day, just getting tiresome this Tor gut just nothing exciting :)

actually i like the sculpt down to the stomach, the leg position and how he in some strange way twist the torso just look odd to me. but it looks well done anyway.

See what you mean but I think it's part of a duo with Loki have a look at the mini and Loki is shooting snakes downward and Thor is throwing mjolnir upwards so it kind of makes sense the pose.

ive been working on the blonde hair which I've found very difficult but quite pleased with the result kind if a tawny blonde effect. Also lightened up the skin to give it that Nordic I've never seen the sun thing. Also started on the gold armour.

Banging mate! Looking good will wait and see if the golden hair is to close to the nmm. The nmm really ads a lot.

LOL
I like that gold, in fact I envy your nmm skills, I must try to do it some day, I think the most difficult thing of that technique is to position the "shines" correctly, and to give them the correct size, which in any case is a difficult thing to do... Anyway I would check out what canny says, so hair and gold don't finally look the same or at least differ from each other.

Yeah Canny/Maenas there's a cloak to go on yet which interposes between the hair and the gold backplate so it should be ok. Also I intend to make the back of the helmet to be in deep shadow so the hair should be good

My only concern is that with the armour and the hammer in gold, and the blonde flowing locks that there will be a large part of the model in very similar colours. Could you perhaps do the bulk of the hammer in steel and then have the gold picking out the embellishments?

Your NMM work is great - I'm just thinking of the completed piece.

He's a god mate he's gotta have the bling. There are other colours which will juxtapose between the gold bits so it wont blend all together. have a look at Yellow one he does a lot of the gold armour and blonde hair it works fine. Obviously I'm no where in the league of that guy but hey you got to give it a go ;)

These Nocturna figures are more Wagnerian than Norse. But as such, you're giving this one justice! Nicely done, Andy!

Watcha ritual good to see you here!

Yeah he does look kinda operatic, mouth fully open, belting out that Wagnerian refrain "Ode to a lump of putty I found in my armpit one morning" ;)
