I really like that skeleton! The base is also a nice piece in it's own right but put it together with the skeleton and you get great little scene with a clear narrative! BRAVO!

It hasn't got the technical wow-factor of your big competition showpieces, but I really love that skeleton. Did you go TMM on that shield?
NMM all the way no TMM on my stuff!!:)

Andy, the updates to Thor look great. I'm nitpicking, but I'd suggest some little straw-colored highlights on the tips of the grass on the base (I might pick up the color of the beard). And I'm still going to say that the orangey color of the plinth and especially the metallic gold lettering detract from the focus on your painting, which certainly deserves all the attention.

I agree, the improvements to Thor are really effective. I think it's most noticeable on the belt buckle. Love that skeleton man, nice simple little piece that really tells a story. Great work!

I still think this looks great, but each tweak definately adds to the mini. Don't just focus on the gold for improvement though. It seems you need to do your normal magic and work some other colors into the skin. Especially along the bicep veins and in the shadows.

I like Lee's suggestions in his gif, but one thing I think would help is darkening the ground slightly so that it gives added brightness to the figure.
......and I have to say that while I love the Skeleton emerging from the ground I have to say it seems all the same level in the photo, if the background was darker the emphasis would then be on the figure. Probably different in real life but if you're going Euro with it might be something to consider because of the lighting in the hall.

Sorry for the long absence I've not been able to do anything for a while I'm having a truly awful time at home. My son has been diagnosed with autism and my aunt just died who was close to my daughter. Also being checked for a persistent cough 4 months with x-ray today. Truly things look bleak no inclination to paint and just totally fed up.

Sometimes words seem inadequate in moments like this. But they're what I've got - sending you and your family all the best vibes and love.

That's a load of things to deal with at the same time! I understand it feels heavy! Sorry to hear about it, mate! Just take care of yourself and your family! Things will get better!

Will ring you tonight mate. I work with a chap who had a cough for 2 years! It turned out as nothing and went away by itself.
