It was him. It turned out he was really an evil robot though:

I\'ve heard that Vin Diesel is actually a pretty smart, articulate guy. So it\'s not a huge surprise that he has hobbies.

Apparently there is a picture floating around the net of Robin Williams in a GW store playing with his Orc army, but i\'ve never actually seen the said picture.

Im also pretty sure Will Smith (or his son) collects GW stuff, as at the end of one of his films (Enemy of the State, i think) a little kid can be seen reading a Games Day flyer. (because that film was shot near the GW American HQ) and Will Smith apparently played a few games of Warhammer between takes, of course i heard that off another forum and with all discussions like this, there is always a lack of evidence...

I don\'t think the Chronicles of Riddick had anything to do with 40K. Necromonger simply means that they make death.

Steven Spielberg famous enough for ya?

A lot of directors have small figure collections as they can get them as gifts from the special-effects studios after a film is wrapped. I think Guillermo del Toro has a number of the sculpts from Hellboy (who wouldn\'t?!) and Ahhhnold has a few bits and pieces from Stan Winston studios.

Here are a few from the older set, Winston Churchill, the Agra Khan, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Fairbanks sold his historical figures back in the day for something like $250K If my memory serves. There\'s a shop out in the San Francisco Bay area that specializes in collectible historicals and the owner ended up with them.

some noteable GW customers are: Weezer, Robin Williams as mentioned, Will Smith (40k poster in sons room in Idependence Day), Mathew Modine\'s son ( I beat him in a game of 40k :p , Billy Crystal. The late Mr.Forbes of Forbes magazine had the worlds largest collection of toy soilders (muesum is open to the public here in NYC)

OK, here is an idea that was declared as lame a while back for Paint Aid : what do you think if some of the people you mentioned here were contacted by Paint Aid\'s organizers during the auction?

Been there, done that.

I contacted Opera\'s people about doing a show on extraodinary things ordinary people do for others, but they never got back to me. It\'s a shame, because I know she just loves that type of thing, and is very charitable herself. Although I had the idea in mind of showcasing the army on International Television, it would be part of a much larger themed show. Now that I know Will Smith likes the games, and he was one of her favorite guests, that little piece of information might just be the little foot in the door we need.

I think I\'ll try to call this time, rather then just send an E-mail... ;)

Famous people who collect miniatures

When my physical museum opens of the very best of the 15,000 painted minis in the Queen of Credits collection, maybe I should drop a line to folks like Stephen Spielberg and Peter Jackson to the opening. Then they can see what a REAL collection from REALLY awesome talented world masterclass painters looks like. Negotiations are in progress,....I\'ll keep y\'awl posted. :D
