Anyone in the U.S. know where to get W&N series 7 brushes?

it was the one recomended to me, of course I have yet to try it and am still using GW brushes, so I can\'t tell you how there service is, although i\'ve heard good things.

Two I know of in the SF bay area are Utrecht art and Amsterdam art. I dont know the URL but a word search should turn something up. They both have good prices but Utrecht is usually a bit cheaper. Also in SF there is a HUGE art store called Pearl .

The Series 7 brushes are not listed on DickBlick.com. I found them for a pretty good price at Mister Art, however. The 3/0 starts at $10.78 ranging up to $30.59 for a 4. They go all the way up to Size 10 at $203.00, but for miniature painting, I figure a 4 is the largest you\'d need in something this high quality.

I just looked at them on dickblick.com a couple of days ago. The Series 7 size 0 was $6.18 and size 1 was $7.08.
I have a size 3 that I bought locally, but very rarely use it.

Michael\'s has some W&N brushes, I picked up a 0 today, but they\'re not Series 7. And come to think of it, I paid about $4.79 for that 0 brush, and it\'s golden nylon, not sable (I\'m pretty sure, I\'ll have to look at it).
Dick Blick\'s pricing is easily half what Mister Art was, and $112.99 for the 5-brush set (0 - 4) is a pretty good deal. I\'ll be grabbing one of those as soon as I get my truck back from the body shop, get a new water pump and start making good money on all of my electronics consignments. So, uh, not so soon after all, I guess.

A standard detail brush is a bout a 1, so a fine detial would be around 00-000. I\'ll also throw in my link: Jerry\'s Artarama

I think it might be the bristle length.. I have a W&N series 707 and it\'s a lot longer than a brush that\'s only one number below it. Notice that they are watercolor brushes, and sometimes the bristles make a difference.. I wish I had a store that sold them so I\'d know the difference myself..

The difference appears to be the bristle length...
the miniature ones have smaller/finer hairs.
THe longer ones can be good for certain things, but the shorter the hairs, the more \'stable\' they are since they have less ability to bend, etc.
They appear better for miniatures...
At least, that is the difference I see in mine. I think the handles are slightly shorter but I am looking at them from a distance right now across the room.
