TThat's all cool shell ,no worries painting for yourself means your free to make any decision ,and this means ",putting even 100 models all at once" ,on the backburner.the khorgoth is a great model I hope to do mine one day.so just remeber there are a few ways to do reds and purples or any colors for that matter here are a few, what you pick is clearly preference . 1) highlighting with with analogous colors ,this means oranges ,yellows etc,2) highlighting by adding a desaturated reds, this means adding a white to the red and adding this to the base red.basically knocking back the red by adding white where it will take on a less saturated (less red) look.
Also for shading you could go 1) complimentery colors like greens.or adding a darker red or brown by adding a deeper red.what ever you choose it's just another way to look at your minis in terms of color theory and it's practice....I have a favoice bunch of words I live by...."always assess, don't just add and see if it works ,if we're not assessing our models then we're just guessing!".

I'd better finish mine up before then so that it doesn't pale in comparison! :p He is a cool model - lots of interesting detail on him that's going to be fun to tackle.

"always assess, don't just add and see if it works ,if we're not assessing our models then we're just guessing!".

I'm moving more towards assessing and thinking about it before splattering paint on my minis. Baby steps.

I want to make him relatively bright red in keeping with the Khorgorath backstory and the link to Khorne. But there will be some playing around within that general idea.

As always thank you for the advice! :D *hugs*

Aw, I didn't know you were thinking of painting a Khorgorath! We could've done a mini paintalong. I'm still summoning up the courage to tackle him (he's a bit of a big bugger) so knowing you were suffering the same trials and tribulations would be a useful motivator. Sharing the pain, and so on.

I've only just started if you want to join in! Thinking of tinkering with the basecoats a bit more anyway. That should give you time.

Paint faster grasshopper, me wants to see progress, I'm sad cause I can't paint or sculpt this week. So I have to live vicarilously through you.

@Digga - What are you up to this week? I'm painting I promise!

@oistene - Seems that Heroes Quest was a lot of people's gateway drug. :)

I'm out of town this week for work. So I might end up scavenging rocks and toothpicks to make a base for something...

@Digga - Pretty much. :) DR knows what I'm talking about.
Unfortunately yes.
Got a "FEW" pieces I'm itching to get my brushes on. (Including recent purchases I made down at Folkestone)
Plus a repair on one piece that didn't get to Euro.:weep::pissed-off:

Roll on the weekend, so I can go "Brushes Hot".

No painting tonight. I've got my tools out to assemble some kits I've got lying around.

Edit: Managed to get five guys done. Only three more to finish tomorrow. And I made space for them in some of my mini storage boxes. *busy* *busy*

I got the fidgets... no painting this week! Got my base primed, that's all, and I managed to do a lot of assembly while helping the wife with her new homework. Saturday and Sunday will be painting days, though! Lock up the kids and send the wife to work! :D
