Great work, Arch: your armature work is already beyond any of my 'scrunch-tinfoil-into-a-ball-and-slap-Fimo-on' efforts. I can see your meticulous nature really helping you on the sculpting side of things; I'm far too impatient.
Your cat cat looks good so far - very Chibi. You could probably have got away with less clay at first to build up layers: not a problem at all, but it means he's only going to get fatter. This is going to be one cute and chubby kitty.
I'll until he's done before I suggest any names. That's one of my weird little rules for my own sculpts: I always think it'll be harder to bin them if they have a name...
oh, and I feel neither guilt nor shame at leading you on the sculptor's dark and forbidding path. That's what friends are for!
