@KruleBear - By "nupeck" I assume you mean "neck"? :) It's a basic structure I'm working on to keep the head off the flat surface of the table and allow me to twist it to get different viewpoints. Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you like her so far (nupecks aside :p).
Ahhrrrgg...me too stupid to overcome the iPad's propensity to change words on me! :( That is the universes way of telling me to stop trying to be funny.

Seriously, this is looking really good.

@KruleBear - To be clear: I was talking about the armature stand I'd made. Not unleashing my sarcasm upon you. Autocorrect has resulted in many interesting messages in my life. You are not alone! And thank you. :D

Looks great, Arch. I think the issue with the nose is simply that the seam is too deep & wide. I see what you're trying to do, but I think a more subtle line, adding a bit of curvature, would serve you better. I actually think that the lower part of the nose looks quite convincing.

I think you are doing a wonderful job here. The lips I tip my hat to you as they came out GREAT! and is probably the hardest part. I agree with Dazz though, I think the nose bridge needs to thin down a bit. But pretty dam impressive.

Wow Arch, feet first, head first, whichever way this is off to an awesome start. You've really created a beautiful face for her. I love the lips and chin, they are almost photo-realistic. I think SaintToad is right about the nose though. I'm not sure the dividing line is even necessary at all. I'd suggest filling it in and adding a bit more mass right at the tip. I think you can create the separation you want later with paint. A real cat doesn't have a line on top of their nose, just a smooth transition from fur to no fur with the nostrils underneath. You may have to do some intensive research by spending some time with a cat :)

@Digga - Thank you my friend. :) The lips took a good deal of swearing and restarting so I'm super pleased you like them. Thanks for your feedback on the nose - definitely something I need to look at it seems.

@khavor - Wow thank you for that amazing comment. :D :D I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on her as well. I need to get a pet (especially a cat) again :( - but I shall content myself with pictures until my man and I move into a pet friendly house.

@TheCorax - That's very kind of you.

Exam season and Maskerade

Opening night for Maskerade (the play I'm in based on one of Terry Pratchett’s books) was on Friday. And then Saturday we had a show as well. Next week we have two more shows. I'm having a blast! But very tired once I get home, so not much sculpting has been done.

In addition, mid-year exams start for me on Wednesday.

I'm therefore going to be relatively scarce around here, or about in patches. But all is well and I'll catch you on the flip side.

Congratulations on your completed shows, and good luck on your remaining performances! Put up some action shots of the props you created!

Congrats on the show and best of luck with your exams, if you nail them like you nailed the start of that sphinx, it'll be a cakewalk ;)

On another note: Having cats is awesome, which is why me and my gf have 3 of em running around our house but do yourself one favor, don't allow them to get into your hobbyzone without supervision... (ours are young and playfull and far to curious for their (and my mini's/tools) own good)

Happy for you all!

Not so happy ;( Anyway I am sure you will surpass yourself on them. So prepare your elbows for hard work study sessions.

Will be missing your posts for sure... Don't forget you ninja dress when you sneak in ;)
