Maybe they\'re gay.
no, hear me out here. I mean, the samurai practiced gay love as a way to strengthen bonds between student and master, and between comrades-in-arms. I believe the greeks did the same thing. If you really think about it, it kind of makes sense. Getting past some people\'s \'ick\' factor, and the fact that the old Catholic Empire that the Imperium was derived from frowned upon homosexuality, wouldn\'t it explain it perfectly? Urges taken care of with people who can...shall we say withstand...the force of muscle-laden superman love, as well as no children, solidarity in squads and otherwise, and a sort of \'keeping within the chapter.\' Besides, I\'d think that in the Imperium, homosexual behavior (as not all Marines would be truly gay as a sexual preference, per se) would be pretty OK, if not looked too nicely upon. I mean, if you\'re not a psyker, a mutant, an alien, or a heretic, and you tithe and fight for the imperium, who cares who you have sex with?
But that\'s my thought, came to me reading this thread and thinking about orders of warriors in general.
...they certainly left -that- out of the novels...the Space Wolf novels just took an entirely new turn...
