Are you good... or EVIL?

By this I mean, do you collect mostly good, neutral, or evil models?

And don\'t just answer, \"Oh, I collect everything,\" because there is a way to tell. You have to check what models you actually have. And if that is inconclusive you have to compare what models you have verses what you have actually painted.

I have been playing WHFB for about 4 years now. Ok, I\'ve been collecting, I have seldom played. I\'ve been trying to amass 4 armies for a gigantic blowout. Two good armies and two bad armies. Every time I have a little extra cash I go and buy a regiment or a hero or some such thing. The armies I have focused on are Dwarfs and Empire for the good, and Vampire Counts and Orcs for the bad.

So anyway I\'m constantly complaining that I don\'t have enough Dwarfs to make an army, and that my Empire group needs work before I can play. So last night I went to see what I actually have to get an idea of what I should purchase next. Here is how it breaks down:

Vampire Counts:

20 skeletons w/spears: painted (P)
1 vampire: P

Orcs:

Grimgor Ironhide: unpainted (U)
Black Orc Command: U
4 Orc Boar Boys: U
20 Goblins: U
20 archived goblins: U
1 Goblin Spear Chukka: U
1 Goblin Shaman: P
1 Goblin hero: P
1 Goblin wolf rider: P

Honorable Mention: Dark Elves:

2 Corsairs: U

Empire:

8 Knights: U
18 Pikemen: U
18 Gunners: U
1 Cannon: U
5 Greatswords: P
1 Wizard: P
20 Freecompanies: P
20 Bowmen: P
1 General: P

Dwarfs:

20 Warriors w/hand weapons: P
10 Longbeards: P
10 Rangers: P
10 Thunderers: P
10 Miners: P
1 Flame Cannon: P
12 Crossbows: U
16 Warriors w/great weapons: U
12 Archived Thunderers: U
10 Archived Warriors: U
1 Organ Gun: U
1 King Alrik: U
1 Anvil of Doom: U

Honorable Mention: Wood Elves:

4 Waywatchers: P
-----

So I can safely say that I predominantly collect \"good.\"

You know, most people would look at this list and think, \"I have a really good Dwarf army. I should start playing with it.\" Some might even go so far as to say, \"I really should beef up my Orcs so that I can fight them with my Dwarfs.\" But what do I think when I see these lists? \"I wonder if I should start playing 40K.\"lol

my hubbie is definately a good guys person, ultra ticks (I mean marines), grey knights, he has orks too, but hasn\'t done much with them, he calls them thugs...

I have necrons, but prefer just to do terrain... so I guess that means I\'m evil :duh: no wait! I\'m not evil!, I just seem that way:D

Me = evil. My 40k army is Dark Eldar. My Confrontation army is Dirz. Some Reaper Minis I have are Ulern the Antipaladin, Gragg Elfslayer the Orc and Nagel the Hammer. Not sure if those Reaper guys are evil, but they sure look like it :p I don\'t know, I just prefer the evil guys.

Hmm.. I guess I\'m in the \"neutral\" category since I collect Lizardmen, wolfen and dragons. Most of these don\'t really have a concept of good and evil per se. ;)

When I started it was dwarves... So I guess it was good then.
But I went over to neutral with Wolfen, and I\'m now turning to evil with Chaos and Mid Nor Dwarves... Mwahaha :)

I think I am neutral with evil tendencies. If I get my collection back, it\'s all various types of elves; but I had 2k points of dark elves actually painted along with a squad of painted dark eldar despite the fact that I actually like the \'good\' elves more.

I\'d say mostly good/heroic types of characters since I collect a lot of elves.

I also collect dark elves but on the whole there are a lot more heroes than villians.... I dun really like monsters much so I only have one or two of them.

Definitely evil for me. I\'ve amassed a fair bit of Confrontation Dirz and Living Dead.

Warhammer stuff is all Chaos and Tyranids.

Reaper ... ah, well, OK, not so evil here, I\'ve got a few goody paladin types.

But on the whole, I think evil beasties look a whole lot cooler.

A question of good and evil....

Good question Barkel. I personally am a very \"good\" person.... Ya know don\'t lie, cheat, steal, am kind and thoughtful etc...:innocent:
Yet all my minis are evil. Demons, undead, chaos, and beasties. It kinda makes me wonder....

Just Misunderstood...

Most of my figures don\'t start out evil enough for my taste... a few examples:

A Cult of Speed 40K army still waiting to be painted because they need to be converted from Boyz to Gurlz (not intrinsically more evil, but done to upset an Outrider).

A squad of SOB Seraphim mid-conversion to Slaneeshi debauchery.

A kitbashed Fairy Meat Clock Fairy that makes an incredibly obnoxious beeping noise when switched on.

A set of Z-scale automobile figures converted for use in Car Wars.

I also have just about all the Man O War figures, but only the Skaven Fleet is Painted; A Mordhiem warband of Vampire Hunters and a fairly even mix of Empire/Rebel Star Wars figures.

I\'ve mostly been painting horses lately. Are horses good or evil???

When I was young I believed the world could be divided into good and evil. Originally my brother bought monsters and I bought heroic types. (I\'m not sure why we bought them, we didn\'t paint or play RPGs) Anyway, my brother decided he didn\'t want them anymore so I got all his goblins and stuff so I had both.

Eventually I got into painting and I buy whatever is cheap. I don\'t think anyone is inherently good or evil, just trying to survive. That said, I am working on a High Elf army I want to play with but the only reason I use High Elves is because I bought a 2000+ point army for $30 US. If I\'d been rich and bought retail I might have gone demons.

The point is, I collect whatever is cheapest.

So Barkel, i think you can\'t tell. (and I have too many to inventory)

I´m with the good guys, I use to buy and paint minis to represent D&D characters (for me and my friends) and I´ve been collecting a Brettonian army and a Dwarf army, but the Dark Side is always lurking cause I have to paint the monsters for the D&D game sessions.

I couldn\'t care less...

I go for the sculpt...having said that however, baddies generally seem more aesthetic to me:D

I guess it would depend upon what side you were on -

Historicals -
Both British 19th Century Colonial Troops and Dervishes

I\'ve also got two Imperial Armies, two Chaos armies, an Entire 25mm Japanese Samurai Army, and then assorted odds and sods including forces of good and evil.
