I can\'t drink like I use to. But I had some Japanese and a brew.

Is it me? Am I getting old? I can\'t seem to drink like i use to. I guess that is good.

If any of you UK residents can figure out how to get WKD Blue here to Canada, I\'ll have that.

They started selling it here, but then stopped again. Woody\'s was more popular. Bleah. Woody\'s isn\'t anywhere near as smooth.

Meantime, rye and coke.

Or BME, or RLobinske, or that kid that basically called us all idiots for wasting our time painting (can\'t remember his name) and then tried to back pedal when the whole forum jumped his ass.

Fine, we\'ll all get along and get drunk.
I think I\'ll piss myself with cheap vodka leftovers... Don\'t want to waste the good Bushmill\'s for that. And I definitely need a good plastering right now. I just got home from my part-timing at Subway (yeah...). It\'s near 4am right now. As I leave the joint, I notice I hadn\'t properly closed the freezer-room door... (or whatever you call that) for some 1,5 hours... Temp jumped from -20° C to some 5°C ... no biggie in itself, but the cooling system seems to have frozen (!) by the rising humidity and won\'t cool again! Boss told me to go home. If Murphy stays right, by tomorrow we\'ll have a shitload of thawed food to throw away, and as I\'m not workplace insured... Merry Christmas! M=§/$%!?$(!!!
Now where\'s the booze!

PS: Sorry for trolling, just needed to get this off my liver...

hey, no worries man :D no harm no foul. it just seems like everything happens while I\'m at work here. I guess I\'ve got two wammies against me, I live on the west coast, so I\'m already 3hrs beind most everyone else on this forum and I work for FedEx...which gets me started around 6am and off around 7pm, so I tend to miss all the fun lol

anyways, I think I\'ll start off with a Guiness myself, and one for my man Tony here :D

Yeah. Subway is here in Korea too.But hey didn\'t take off like they did everywhere else. I came here about a yer or a year and a half ago and fizzled out.

The Subway in Singapore was awesome. That was the highlight of our trip in 2002.

After that we went to Malaysia. Then I saw the true delight...A&W!!! No sugar free root beer, but they had A&W onions rings. :)

I guess I\'ll find out in about an hour... :( You see, normal insurance that jumps in if you, say, break someone\'s glasses or stuff, won\'t jump in if you do it during work. You need an extra insurance for that. Which I don\'t have. I guess (read: hope) my employer got me/himself an insurance along with my contract, or (worst case scenario) if the cooling of the unit didn\'t jump back on, they might have had to throw away a bunch of stuff and want me to pay for it :wow:
I guess I\'ll keep you up do date on how this goes...
Oh, and yes, It\'s the Sandwich shop. :)

Wait a second... are you that guy who couldn\'t understand me when I was speaking German but at the same time spoke such a bad English that I could not understand him and had to jump around on the menu trying to tell him that I want a warm sandwich and when I got one it was cold and I complained because it was labeled as \"hot\" and they told me it was only the name and they were not actually hot and I told them to heat that sandwich up in their stupid oven there and he said he couldn\'t do it and then manager came and said it was OK and then chucked it in the microwave and gave me that piece of totally flavorless bread with 3 meat balls on it and then I asked them whose bright idea it was to put all this in the microwave instead of the oven and they all looked really sheepish and couldn\'t understand why the cheese would not melt and then they put a load of salad on my sandwich without asking me and then I basically flipped out and decapitated the whole lot of them with a footlong Italian (microwaved)?

Note: Last thing may not actually have happened.
Another note: It probably wasn\'t you.
Third note: I will not eat at Subways anymore.

Fifth note: That Döner guy on campus is cheaper and his stuff tastes a lot better! Yay for nameless Döner guy!

Last note: I am really, really bored right now because I was invited to a big party (read: booze-up) and couldn\'t go for reasons that have now vanished. Entertain me or feel my wrath!

Wow! Cool down! This must have been THE utter horror you\'ve experiened ar Subway. I\'ve never eaten there (don\'t eat fastfood - though kebap isn\'t that unhealthy if made correctly) so I won\'t judge or say bad things about their food, but until now I\'ve only heard good things about Subway.

By the way: Fourth Note?

C\'mon, guys, Subway is the replacement sandwich of the hoagy/grinder/submarine sanwich world! A Subway sandwich can\'t compare with the real thing created by any nameless deli guy in Boston or Philadelphia (or probably any number of other places).

Subway only works when you can\'t get the real thing. Someday, I will work in a pizzaria AND a sandwich shop to learn these arcane culinary arts.

wow, do you guys need to have insurance for everything over there? I remember I actually lost a box somehow when I first started, and all that happened was I got in a bit of trouble......I mean, hey, people make mistakes, no one\'s perfect

Hell, where I work, a guy ended up frying some quadrupole electromagnets by forgetting to hook the safeties back to them.
The water was turned off for the weekend but the power was accidently left on. (Our electromagnets are water cooled)
Since the safeties weren\'t connected, the magnets power supply didn\'t turn off when the magnets got too hot.
One of our guys comes in on Monday and the first thing he does is turn on the water.
The cold water hits those hot magnets and chaos insues.
The water hit the magnets, instantly turning to superheated steam, melting all the rubber hoses that bring the water to the magnets, the magnets themselves shattered, sending chunks of it everywhere.
Imagine a room the size of a highschool auditorium, steam so thick you can\'t see, and ankle deep water all over the floor.
The magnets themselves cost about $36,000 to replace, not to mention the man hours it took to clean up the water, repipe and replace the hoses on the cooling system, and the actual replacement of the magnets themselves, it took us two weeks.
The guy responsible is still here and still screws almost everything he touches up, for some reason they will not fire him.

YAY!

Got off easy! Seems the cooling unit of the freezer came to during the night and got to doing what it\'s supposed to. Lucky me :flip:
I still didn\'t get a straight answer outta my boss, but I guess he\'s insured against stuff like that. Still, thawing about 6000€ / 7500$ in goods does tend to make a bad impression. So here\'s to good luck!
And basically, I tend to eat at Subway cause sometimes, you just can\'t stand the look of Döner anymore.
@Mosch: poor you. My boss woulda killed me if I did something like that. 3 Meatballs? The minimum is four on a small one! Strange... Oh, and I take pride in having a better grasp of German than most native Germans :D Prolly got some n00b there...

Side note: Drinking, Job screw-ups, Fast Food... I think this thread has been OFFICIALLY JACKED!
