auctions and bidders remorse

Ok.I\'ll probably report him and relist, lest he pays my insertion fee.
The thing that chafes is that the idiot didn\'t read that one of the auctions does not ship outside of the US,the other one charges$17 for shipping-which makes it more than mine....

That all assumes your theory as to why he renegged is true.
Perhaps the real reason is his girlfriend said \"you buy one more of those damn minis and I\'m leaving you!\"

Even if it is true, perhaps he (or a friend) lives near the seller and won\'t have to pay shipping.

Anyway, you can never know what\'s going on in his mind.

Oh, I\'ve had pretty good luck on ebay, but my wife gets the weirdos. The worst was someone who bought a ceramic horse from her for $350.00 (plus shipping and insurance) then tried to claim that it was broken and reglued before it got to her so she wanted her money back but would not return the item or take it to the post office to claim the insurance. She then told her credit card to deny the payment and Paypal chose not to dispute with the credit card company and took the money out of my wife\'s account! (I hate paypal) The buyer got the horse and her money back! Of course since my wife had no $ in her paypal account, Paypal ended up being out the money.

Sometimes you get jerks, but sometimes you get to see a good side of people too. I related one bad story about my selling off my comic collection awhile ago, so I won\'t bother repeating it. I will relate a good one. A person from Spain who was bidding on quite a bit of my auctions had won three, and I offered to save him money by combining shipping on them. My wife and him exchanged several E-mails, and he seemed like a very pleasant fellow. A couple of weeks after we sent them out my wife E-mailed him asking if he had gotten everything. He responded by telling my wife he got the merchandise, but it was COMPLETELY DESTROYED! He said that the postal service had folded the package several times, and it looked like it was underwater as well! He even sent pics of the ruined comics, which he paid over $100 dollars for (The book value was MUCH higher). He said he didn\'t want to bother us about it, because he knew it was the post office\'s fault. We felt so bad, that we mailed him out a second package. It just so happened that someone who had won a $45 dollar auction had backed out, and they were comics the other guy in Spain had been second highest bidder. We didn\'t charge anything, not even postage, and he was very grateful. The second package got there in perfect condition, and we all had a warm fuzzy feeling inside. :D

So, not everyone is a jerk on E-bay, there just seems to be a higher ratio of them there. ;)

That\'s true! I\'ve personally came across some very fine human beings that frankly give me hope for the world.
There are those however like a teenager that got his parents to buy one of my painted figures and then win a GD in Canada. He got caught.Later after many apologies,he was bidding on someone elses paint job. I warned the painter in time though.

Just got an email from the guy.He said he\'ll pay afterall.
I guess he noticed that shining red dot on his forehead and changed his mind.:innocent:

Glad to hear things worked out for you. E-bay can be a pain in the rear sometimes. I have had my share of idiots as of late. I had to go though the whole non paying bidder thing when I sold 600 dollar army to a guy over seas who did not speak a word of english and could not use pay pal. I eventully had to relist the item.
But it is a nessesary evil. E-baying funds my hobby.

Don\'t get me started.

I got the highest (and only) bid on a 2000 pt Necron Army for my SO. The seller had no rating (first auction), so I guess peeps weren\'t too hot on bidding blindly... So I got the swag for 140 Euro, well below 50% off retail... I wager he didn\'t really wanna sell the stuff that cheap... eventually I foud out his phone number... End of story, it took over 2 months for the deal to finish. The things I go through for my honey...

I believe I was the victim of Schill bidding. I reported the 2 people and ebay wrote back that they were no longer members. Odd thing is they were still showing up for about a week after that. Anyway, they are off the site now. The schill pushed the price up $100. So I paid $100 more than I ought to have if they\'d followed the rules.

Ask him to pay just your fees plus relisting fees (and maybe a small premium), don\'t file a NPB, and just relist the item after you get the payment from him.
I thought of this myself a couple of hours after I posted, if you\'re feeling magnanimous that\'s the way to go IMO - you give him the benefit of the doubt for it being a genuine mistake but, importantly, you\'re not out of pocket ;)

Yeah. You won\'t see the money. If you post negative feedback, he\'ll just send retalitory neg freedback.
Not if you time it right and post at the very last minute :D

Thats good you slapped him with a big-ol negative! Ive been screwed out of auctions 3 times so far, but for me its usualy some guy bidding and bidding and then they win it and thats all i hear from them. Its like they just drop off the face of the earth. This one guy was a real jerk, i had waited like 2 weeks and he hadent payed so i have him a negative, and what does he do? He gives me one back and his comment is \" ;-) \"

Grrr i hate those people.

Buy now i will give any buyer that actualy pays GLOWING feedback, just because its become rare that an auction goes off without some misshap.
