Thanks, Coyotebreaks. BFK, yeah, I may pick your brain next time I've got to paint wood texture for a project. And I think Scale75 did a whole set of paints for wood.
I'm still open to any suggestions on the two Crystal Brush projects, but in the meantime I thought I'd share a some figures that arrived today. A few months ago I backed the Figopedia Indiegogo project. I'm still waiting on the book, but the part of the shipment with the two Indiegogo figures arrived today (so hopefully the book isn't far behind). They also gave us the option to add any of the figures from Figone to our order, so I picked up a copy of Alphonse Danlta too. That's the first figure below and definitely one that fits my style well. He's 54mm and has all sorts of space for freehand designs. He's got two shields, a big one on his back and a small one in front, plus two banners hanging from his back. The cape and cloth hanging from his belt are a few more places where I could add some design work. His armor is really nice, lots of dents and scratches for character. There are a couple pieces that will need to be straightened but it doesn't look too bad.
The next two figures are both 32mm that, I believe, are exclusives for the indiegogo project. They are the Queen of Death and the Queen of Barbary. Both are beautiful sculpts, though I really like the Queen of Barbary. She's got a huge demon head hanging from her sword and that's going to be a lot of fun to paint next to the tiny female figure. I'd love to have this one in a 54mm version, but that wasn't an option so I'll have to give the 32mm version a try.
