No problem. The hangout recorded and the video is up on Youtube. If you check it out, be aware the tutorial part doesn't start until about 30 minutes in (up until then it was just a regular hangout). Because I recorded it through the Google Hangout, the video resolution isn't great and the audio is a bit iffy. You can still see and hear what's going on, it's just not as good as I would have liked! I hope to do another one, but record it directly from my own computer. That should give a much better resolution and help with the audio too. Not sure when I'll have time, but I'll definitely let everyone here know when it's done!
In other news, I've made some progress on the Hussar. I've been working on his headgear. I wanted to do some design work on his uniform, add more lace details. I decided to use metallic paints (it's gold lace), which ended up being way more of a pain than I anticipated. I had a hell of a time getting real fine lines with the metallics. I ended up having to go a bit thicker with the lines than I wanted, but finally got something I was happy with. There will be more of these details on his coat and pants, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it, so those should go faster (I hope!).
And he's a little better view of the design work
I'm also going to be starting on this figure from Milosh Miniatures (yes, Milosh from CMON). He's been commissioning some sculpts and turning them into kits. This one is 54mm (though he's got an 80mm version too). If you're interested in seeing more or ordering one, check out his facebook page. I'm helping a friend out with some private coaching, so this is the piece we'll be working on. Lot's of skin to paint, so it should be a good project for the class.
