Battlestar Galactica Season Finale

OK first off, I don\'t want to spoil anything to those who might not be familiar with the show or the current season.

If you don\'t want to ruin the mind-boggling, screaming at the sky in confusion kind of ending to season 3, read no further.

Now that that\'s out of the way... Bob Dylan. In space. In a shared auditory hallucination among what may prove to be four of the Final Five. What the heck is going on here lol

Conspiracy theories, rants, incoherent babble, all is welcome here. I think we\'ll all appreciate somewhere to vent before our minds collapse under the strain of trying to figure out why so many key characters all have All Along the Watchtower stuck in their heads.

Oh, and yay for Starbuck :bouncy:

You should be able to, there\'s a good six months til the next season starts I reckon. That\'s about an 3 eps a week, you can do it Vike!

Season 4 wont start till 2008, Vike. You got plenty of time. And don\'t forget to watch the mini-series! If you haven\'t already, stop watching the regular seasons and watch it first.

Stop Reading HERE, Vike!

Back on Topic:
I think Starbuck is the 5th. Would explain why she wasn\'t there (apart from blowing up) with the other 4. Would also explain why she\'s alive after the aforementioned detonation in outer space. Would also explain the creepy guy\'s interest in her, and her \"destiny.\"
But it doesn\'t explain her childhood. Still tryin\' to figure that one out.

One of my friends thinks otherwise. He doesn\'t think those 4 are cylon\'s, but he thinks Roslin is... ???

But hey, if those 4 are, that means that there\'s another cylon-human baby on-board Galactica... *dun dun duuuuuuun*

Yup, just got round to watching it. For fans of Dylan and BSG that is one freak out moment, although it\'s a shame it\'s not Bob doing the singing.

I can\'t say I wasn\'t expecting them to be the Cylons, but the way it was done was rather funky! Have to agree that Starbuck is the 5th, makes a whole lot of sense. The childhood thing, well the final 5 Cylons are supposed to be different, so there could be all sorts of explanations for that, and I\'m pretty sure that until they realise they are Cylons the unknowing sleeper agents would have had false childhoods too.

It\'s still offering a nice intelligent bit of sci-fi. Now I gotta wait it out and hope they don\'t can it before season 4!

I still don\'t know if I buy them being Cylons. Boomer had a super vague childhood and no parents, whereas these guys seemed to have a ton more depth in their history. Tigh spent 40 years serving in the military with Adama for cryin out loud :D

I think I made a big reply earlier that a page timeout destroyed, but I think there\'s something else in store for these guys.

I don\'t think they\'re Cylons. Remember the big surprise at the end of Season 2 when they led you to believe Roslin and the others were massacred?

I don\'t think Starbuck is either. I think the \"Ships of Light\" from the original series are making an appearance. Or did anyone else notice the bright white light in Starbuck\'s cockpit right before she blew up?

That bright light was the Enterprise coming out of warp space.

Big Cross-over for next season.
Star Trek: Enterprise Revisted meets Battlestar Galactica.

They beamed Starbuck out.

That\'s my theory, anyway....

The Galactica would kick the ever living crap out of the Enterprise.
Phasers? Photon Torpedos?
Ha, Galactica can take a Nuke hit, she\'d plow right on through.
Unless Kirk, the Enterprise captains would want to talk peaceful negotiations, while Adama was warming up the nukes.

Hell, Galactica could probably take the Death Star.

Only because it is still equipped with 70\'s era fighter planes small enough to avoid most of its firepower. That\'s nothing we haven\'t seen before!

Anyhoo... I have no idea what the ships of light are all about. I\'ve just seen a handful of random eps of the old show over the last couple years. Nowhere near enough to know really what happened beyond the whole \"attacked by killer Toasters\" bit.

Oh yeah, and Boomer was black and Starbuck was a man. I know that much.

Perhaps a rephrase of what I said is in order. I was expecting the four of them hearing the music to think that they were Cylons. I don\'t necessarily believe that they all will be revealed as Cylons by the time the show is wrapped up.

I had completely forgotten about the Ships of Light. The focus that they are putting on the religious aspect suggests they would include these angelic sorts. Perhaps Starbuck is actually a Seraph. They could take on human form right? Nah, that\'s probably pushing it!

Starbuck being anything Angel-related seems a bit of a stretch, given the drunkenness, gambling, repeated jail sentences etc ;)

She could have been on the other team. (Rebel angels):D

Well it does seem that the writers for the new series suffer some gender confusion, e.g. Boomer and Starbuck.

Hey DR! \"batting for the other team\": Might improve ratings :D

As long as Boomer is involved.

Have to agree that Grace Park easy on the eye phil ologus, but what freaked me quite a bit this series was Number Three. I didn\'t realise that she Xena until waaaay into the third series. She looks much better blonde than she did back then.

I think it is too convenient that we have 5 main characters who are going through some freaky experiences (shared experiences for 4 of the 5) for them not to be the final 5 Cylons.

Depending on how the writers spin it, they could get alot of mileage out of this - primarily what makes them different than the \"sleeper\" agent Cylons we already know about like Boomer. For one, the resurrection thing obviously must work differently for the final 5, since none of the other Cylon models have seen the final 5 on the Resurrection ship.

There were other signs that they were different - Starbuck\'s uncanny ability to pilot the \"dead\" Cylon ship, and the Chief\'s weird compulsion to check out the mountain where they found the temple on the Algae planet.

Don\'t know about the President\'s aide and Starbuck\'s hubby; hopefully something will happen to make their characters more interesting!
