ok so we have had the standard fav food threads, but what do you like on a barbie?

personally i think it should be a meat feast. maybe a little salad but thats all. garlic bread, plenty of sauces (hot ones) and some cold beers or a chilled rose.

bananas done with sugar for dessert or ice cream

god i am hungry now. now share yours and make me hungrier (i have steak tonight and i can\'t wait)

The simple things. A nice steak for the adults, some hot dogs for the kids. Then fill it up with foil wrapped goodies from the garden: corn, beans, carrots, etc. My family who were visiting at the last harvest are still talking about how good it was.

Whole fish, gutted and filled with garlic, lemon and herbs, then eaten with salad, potatoes and tabasco sauce.

Peace and love...

Decent sausages, chicken breast, corn on the cob (heavy on the butter), decent home made burgers with extra mature cheddar cheese, and a nice roll with some leattuce...

For puds like freak said, bananna with sugar in foil, served with ice cream.

To drink, some nice ole cider :p

Salmon with grilled veggies (steamed a tad first so they aren\'t to hard). Potatoes left to roast with butter and salt and pepper.

Steaks medium rare with said potato and salad.

Chicken (no BBQ sauce but soaked in lime and spices) with baked beans, tortillas, salsa, corn and salad.

Sage sausage, fried apples, coleslaw, fresh pan bread.

God, not fair. I\'m hungry

Roating a whole chicken on the barbie is divine, but can take a while (and pretty much requires one of those Weber-style bbqs). Well worth it tho!

Corn-on-the-cob, wrapped in tinfoil with loads of butter.

Kebabs made with chunks of pork or beef, onions, mushrooms and peppers marinated in a spicy sauce before being slapped on the bbq.

Curses! Now I\'m hungry too! Damn you all! :cussing::drool:

So good food for adults, processed garbage full of reclaimed animal products for kids. :D
Personally I\'ve worked enough Scout BBQ\'s to fill a lot of memories.
We used to cook locally butcher produced Beef Burgers, Plain for the young ones, Chilli and Spicey for Adults if they wanted them.
Oh and Cumberland Sausage rings as well.

But you can\'t have a BBQ without Pease Pudding.

Great with Ham sarnies as well.

Our Local butchers makes the best burgers I have ever tasted and they are cheap as chips too (actually cheaper...)(and before any one comments, they are not made out of human remains from the barbers next door ala sweeny todd.. :D)

They add some spices which make them amazing!!

interesting stuff there mike, can honestly say i have never tried it. looks nice with the ham though. where do you get it from? (although the 2nd one looks home made)

@alex, it\'s all in the spices

our local butchers (at home that is) do lovely pork and apple burgers. don\'t have them with anything (ie baps etc) as they are lovely as they are

Ribeye steak! Rare!

Vegetarians.... never tried one, but they\'re rules around here about eating them. Might give it a shot once.

One thing nobody has mentioned is a nice piece of BBQ\'d pork. Delicious and for those on a budget a great steak alternative. Great pork chops are 1/3rd the cost of great steak around here.

Burger\'s are alos great. We make good ones so their nice in the summer, though I must admit I usually grab a steak instead. Not much for chicken.

Anyone else for Kabob\'s? We make a nice pork souvlaki and it\'s one of the staple stores at the store. We sell tons evary week once the snow melts.

And yes, hot dogs every now and again. A hot dog is delicious even when you know exactly what goes into them and where. ..mmmmmmm..... face meat...... delicious!

Hickory smoked Pork jowl bacon, named by the MTG players as sex bacon, they think it is better then sex I disagree but no matter...

I do BBQ\'s for the game nights Pork roast, ribs and a marinated beef shoulder with potatoes and yes the sex bacon... after a few games we all go out and do smores and marshmallows with hot chocolate.
Between that and Becca\'s cuteness we do not have a hard time finding players on the weekend :D
