bendy plaques?

I\'m just touching up my lotr single mini entry for GD and this year I am determined to put plaques on them (you know, \'space marine with hairdryer\', \'mating skinks\', \'diorama of middle earth\' that sort of thing).

The thing is, this model is on a large (approx. 50-60mm diameter, 40mm high) Plain round base. The base is black, but the pallet of the model is warm, and it\'s sitting on a square aged walnut plate. lurverrly, true, but I\'ve no idea about how to get a warm coloured (brass maybe) name plate onto the curvature of the surface. These are options, but none seem quite ideal:
Paint it on (lots of time, and I don\'t always love the finished look)
Paint plasticard (don\'t much like making tiny plasticard letters)
Straight brass plaque (looks sort of off because it doesn\'t follow the contour of the base. meh)

Any better more professional looking ideas? I\'m reticent to post this as a wip (although I would love to see it get me my first 9), because it would seem to be better to unveil it at the competition. Anyway, any bright ideas for this?

ever thought of picking up some shiny gold spray paint and spray some plasticard gold then use adhesive scrap booking letters?

bend the brass plaque to fit the plinth.

just place it against it and gently form it to the required shape.
then use a two part flexible glue to attach such as araldite.

I think some use golden stickers that can be printed out in some stores. Use it over some bendier material... or spray it black and use a golden sticker over with the name cut out... ehm. yeah could be a bit daunting task but I\'m sure there is some smart way of doing it.

A sticker etc. might look \"cheap\". I\'d inquire at a place that sells trophies. They\'ll engrave the plate, and may have some kind of roller device that bends it. And they may cost less than you expect... (or may not, of course)

I\'ve seen a couple of times in competitions where the painter has had a fluted (ie Roman Ogee shaped) edged to the base and he got a flat plaque engraved and fitted it to the base with either green stuff or Milliput and matched it to the wood.
Looked quite smart as it sat flat against the base and at 45 degrees to the ground was clearly readable.

went around and found noone willing to engrave a plaque for me...until I found a little independent key cutting place who charged me a tenner and did it in half an hour, even bending it to fit the base perfectly. Now tharanduil has a shiny plaque so everyone knows who he is (o: woo! thanks for the advice guys!
