By Rebecca Warren, one of four nominees for this year\'s £40,000 Turner prize. She is so talented, almost unreal.

I believe this is one of the works in question:

It\'s just a different kind of sculpting.

Well, I definately saw those. But I\'m sorry, maybe its my low brow education, or my lack of class, but those are completely stupid looking.

Seriously, it looks like some plaster of paris slopped over a chicken wire frame.

Where am I missing the \'incredible vision\'?

Help me understand.

Its one of those nevou arts, you know where they have no talent so they make up a new catagory of art. Its all $#!T to me. I like art that looks like stuff.

That pic I posted is not her most accessible work to be sure. I don\'t like it, anyway. Some of her other stuff looks better (though I wouldn\'t have any of it in my house...)

Wow! I mean that really sucks!

It amazes me that people can look at that crap and call it art and at the same time look at what we do and brush it off as geeks painting toy soldiers.

Poor Vike :D

\"Art\" is a VERY loose term... some people tend to think that goldfish mollested in a jar is art... or what about pigs carcasses ? Or even an embalmed horse?

No... art... art is what we make of it... If this shitty piece of crap is art to some people, then it´s SURE is art...

When people paint something fantastic, with some effort put into it, I think that is art... especially miniature painting... It is an art form.

This is just sheit, and I want the 40k quid price!!!

Btw

@Dammekkos2: Hope this thread was started in irony, or you got a serious problem :p hehe???

As a friend of mine once said, a crucifix in a jar of piss may not be art, but calling it a piece of art may very well be.

...sometimes the art is in the presentation.

Previous winners of this competition include \"Room with light\" (ie empty room with light turning on and off), and I think one winner was mono-colour canvases.

Not so much an art competition as a competition in pretentiousness.

Still, getting pissed off means that they have already won. Just be content in the knowledge that some fools are paying thousands for stuff like this, if that makes them happy, who are we to complain? :)

Answer to original question:

No. Definitely not Greatest Sculpt Ever.
It is a pile of fluff, and other household flak, grey, in no recognisable form. What is great about that?

That original of the Dogs painting sold for like a half a million!

Its brilliant, and it is so because the dog closest to the viewer is obviously bluffing. He placed a LARGE bet on crap cards...(a pair of deuces) and the rest of the dogs are trying to ascertain if he is bluffing or not. Of course they will never know, since he never shows his tail...er I mean tell.

The collie lost before he even sat down.
