You may not know this about me but I have a masters degree in Museum Studies. I recall a discussion in one of my classes about presentation. The gist of it was this:
A pile of tires in front of someone\'s house is garbage.
A pile of tires in front of an art museum is sculpture.

There was a painting in my local museum called \"The Priministers Mind\"

It was a sheet of black paper with question marks in the corner. The paper hadnt even been painted black. It was worth £900...

There is an entire gallery in our Museum (High museum of art in Atlanta) that is devoted to an \"artist\" who paints mono-chromatic canvases. They are different because the canvases are not rectangular. The works have names like \"Red Curve #1\". He demanded a gallery of his own before the museum could/would display the crap.

The Turner prize brings up allsorts of discussion..
There was the infamous Elephant Poo paintings.. My Bed (just an unmade bed I do that every day.) It\'s genius ..I\'m sure some of these people are serious deep thinking artists with a way to present works with an artistic meaning understanded by those from a different class to me... I wonder how many of them sit there and think I\'m gonna try some bollocks and see if I can get away with it..

There is the famous christmas tree for some museum. They paid this artist thousands of pounds to design them a special chritmas tree. She came up with a large plant pot. You have to imagine what the tree looks like so its different for everyperson who see\'s it.

I\'m gonna put this blank piece of paper thats next to me in a frame and sell it for millions...
