STOP BEING SO DAM IMPRESIVE! lol. You make sculpting look really easy man. Plus your ideas are just super fun to watch unfold. Its like watching natural talent being refined and that is always a good thing. So I like Gargamel the Grey, his pose came out amazing. One thing I would say is at the moment it looks like he cast the wrong spell and he is puking out his beard from his mouth lol.

Seems that sculpting bigger things affected you by further improving your skills in smaller scales! This last one looks great! ^^

Thanks guys. Yes, bigger stuff weirdly helps with the smaller stuff. I'm not yet at the super tiny level, but getting closer each time!

Incidentally this guy is 54mm. here's a little update - some armour, and hands ready for axes. Also a bit of decoration on the belt.

Also as per Digga's excellent point about the wizard's mouth, I've added a bottom lip to give his mouth more shape. And done a band around the hat to neaten it all up a bit. I'm going to paint him next...

Wow such an improvement mate, I take a break for a month and you make giant leaps in your sculpting skills.

Thanks everyone!

Digga: nope, no lessons. Still just bashing away at it.

So painting starts Friday, and I wanted to get this fella out of the way before then so he's nearly done. The axe heads are just for placement. You can tell our new oven cooks a bit hotter than the last - he's gone a bit toasty. I'll have to experiment a bit to get the right temp.

overall I'm quite pleased with him. He's not the most exciting of figures, but I think the proportions/muscles to fat ratio are broadly correct, and there's a reasonable amount of detail on him for a 54mm figure. Still lots of improvements to make of course!

On to the next one!

Auricle one (not nearly had as much paint time as I would like), but I've put in the blue robes blending to pink, and some very rudimentary skin tones. No real shading yet though, so pretty flat.

Sorry for not being around lately. Working on my master thesis I don't feel like putting too much time into hobbies. Just came by and see that weird magician. Beautifull colors! I am blown away by that choice of colors. The blue-to-purple looks like you airbrushed it. So smooth.

Thanks Schwarz - and hope your master's is going well. Glad you like the colours: no airbrush (sadly), just a lot of stippling.

I've done a first pass on the shadows here:
