Thanks for your support everyone.

@Maenas funny you should mention broken arms... I had to break her trailing arm to reposition it better. But otherwise I think they'll stand okay. I've temporarily stuck the ass cloak on to see if the whole thing looks balanced, roughed the head and hands, and done the barbarian's other hand too, plus some extra details and such. I think it's starting to come together a bit more now...

@digga: I think that might need a trademark adding to it! :)

here's some more WIP pics:

Thanks guys. Just noticed in an earlier post I put the scale in wrong. To clear up any confusion, he's 54mm tall to the eyes, not 74mm. Sorry!

Pity that you broke her arm, but it may look better now, more like dismayed not sleep if you know what I mean. The couple is starting to look epic!!

Right then, I'm calling this pretty much done. I've added a sword, feet, wrist cuff and bracelet. Might add ankle things to her and make his boots a bit more sexy, plus need to do a base, but otherwise I'm happy. Phew! This turned out to be more involved than a simple messabout as originally planned.

Hiya!

First time viewer of your impressive thread. You've got great talent! That barbarian looks like he's stepped right out of a Frazetta painting.

Welcome to my funny little corner of the Internet supervike! Sadly he's not Frazetta standard yet, but I keep trying...

Diggga: maybe next time... :)

right, after a little break to clear my head of all things barbarian, it's back to the wizard. A few little things: painted over the hat decor as it was rubbish, finished the other hand, did the beard, tidied the robe, and roughed out some more patterning on the cuffs and hat. Still plenty to do of course!

Funny you should mention...

Only just started, but after all that skin I fancied doing something a bit different. So here's a start on an armoured thing. Ork? Beast? I don't know yet (I've only done a bit of a leg, after all), but I'll keep playing in between painting.

I've put him next to Maulgy for scale - he's about 50mm tall. I'm quite enjoying this scale at the moment...

Looks like a good start; I also prefer 50mm it seems like the ideas I have to improve the miniatures I make are more easy to do at 50mm; can I ask a question; I'm currently working with the standard sculpey is the sculpey that you are using more firm then the Original?

Hi Locutus - always happy to answer a question if I can. Yes, this super sculpey firm. I don't know how different it is to original sculpey as I've never used it, but it's nicer to work with than Fimo. It holds details very well and you can make it smoother with baby oil. The only bad point is it is quite brittle: I've been getting around this by putting green stuff on my armatures first to make them stronger.
