Big Mek Challenge: Uberdark vs Kulandini (both done!)

I find the idea very original, I great am on end to result strained ................

well since the boy got sick i had to stay home. but then he got better this morning, so since i was staying home anyway.....muwahahahaa... so here is more of my deff dread. i totally rebuilt the face plate and am real happy with the outcome. i started the powerklaws. and plan on doing 3 klaws for each hand. then its on to the feet, gubbins and finally rivits. so here ya go... let me know what you guys think.

Lookin\' good Uber. I\'m noticing a passing resemblance now to the giant Squig that was made by the Ace of Cakes show (Food Network) for Gamesday Baltimore. Just say the episode last night, and I know you\'re more inspired by ED209 (one of my favorites) but It would pass for a ginat mechanical squig too.

another update. i know i know. i have no life... and thats good for you guys. well after burning me didgits last night with some zap a gap and a copious amount of superglue falling onto my thumb i have this to show for it. a pretty much finished claw. i am running dangerously low on plasticard so i am hoping i will have enough to get me through the second arm. its literally 3x3 inches left. anyhow i put commisar Barry next to the deff dread for a size comparison. he must be nuts if he thinks that pea-shooter is gonna take down deff ed-209.

Lookin\' good, Uber. My only critique would be the topside of the body looks a bit flat compared to the rest of the angled surfaces. Maybe you already have something in mind - in my head I see a hatch up there with a \'ead pokin\' out to \"round it out\" a little.

Whoopsie.. forgot to post my update here.

Lookin\' good uber! very nice.

here is what I have done:

As you can see I found a way to remove the face plate.
Did some work on the front plate and the right arm (still very basic and in progress)

added some further detail to the first cc arm,

Note that there are a lot of rivets on it, but because I always make them from glue they might be hard to spot.

sweet challenging. the only thing i can say it its not really a negative is that uberdark\'s lost all the cool inner workings and detail.
other than that its got all the orkie gubbins

thanks for the kudos all. well i am pretty much done with the piece. just some small gubbinz and lots of rivets. in fact today is rivet day. dear god anyhow take a look and tell me what you think.

ooh i think you should cut a hole in front of the driver so you can see him, a slightly lager one and put some bars in front of him. had been really cool!
